I just read something about Java that'll give me nightmares... "There are so many things you're supposed to run only with specific Java versions, and I just broke something when updating." Java versions predate semver.org, so it doesn't shock me that going from 1.7.0.2 to 1.7.0.3 breaks a Java program, but I have to tell ya, seriously, in 40 years I want to be updating to Rust 1.415.0. Breaking changes are a hard fork. Rust should be like Bitcoin. The base layer should not contain breaking changes. 786365

So, I'm hella high, I smoke rarely, but fuck it, it's just that time of year. Anyway, I'm really high and surrounded by good company and I came up with a sick business idea. So, imagine a giant electronics store in a warehouse called Prepper's. Like Microcenter but the size of a Costco. And you start the warehouse surrounded by lots of land, and so it's a bit of a drive to get to Prepper's. And it's an enormous warehouse. But their thing is they stockpile electronics. And it's all built in an enormous faraday cage. And they sell faraday cages, and survival gear, too. But the electronics is a good start, since it's high margin, has a long shelf life, and might be really needed if the big one ever dropped, y'know? But so long as we're this side of midnight, might as well sell the stuff, too. It helps keep stock fresh. And maybe nearby people could build businesses that repair and recycle electronics. And after a while, maybe it gets so much traffic, you can do foodstuffs, too, so long as they had a very long shelf life, and stockpile and sell that too. And then firearms and equipment, too. And this is how you bootstrap the citadels, my friends. And it could help bootstrap the Bitcoin economy, too. Sats are always good money at Prepper's. 786357

@@Mike Dilger ☑️ I'm too lazy to read the codebase, plus it's 4/20, but I wanted to ask, when the Gossip client computes proof of work, does it compute work for all messages, including "likes", or just notes like this?

I'm a huge fan of relay aggregators like #[0] They help the network scale, almost like an L2 for the Nostr protocol. I'm happy to provide value for the value that provide me. I'm able to reduce my relay count and extend my reach more effectively because of filter.nostr.wine. image

Hi, yes, you, the Karen standing behind the obviously gay couple in the line at the local Whole Foods who gave me the "side eye" when I cracked the joke when we were carded for buying wine, "that's how they get ya, they'll come for the wine drinkers first", actually, yes, we don't trust the government, you know why, honey, do you really want to know why? Biden won't be president forever. You have a good night now.
