@ZBD mind letting me know how I can access my account seeing as you seem to refuse to respond to support requests through the website! Earlier in the year you offered developer accounts to Nostr relay runners such as myself so that we might take payments. For some time now I've been unable to access my account or funds (through either the developer dashboard or android app) and always receive "Error. Issue detected. Please contact support". In order to contact support one has to first create a support account and is then faced with a form that insists on a 'gamertag'. Text on the form suggests that the way to get ones gamertag is to login to the app... which I'm blocked from! Well done, you've created a system in which nobody that is locked from their account, for whatever reason, is able to ask you for support! ๐Ÿ‘ So I've submitted a support request over a week ago using a fake gamertag and explanation of the situation, simply so that the form might actually submit. It seemed to work and I received a confirmation email telling me to expect a response in 24-48 hrs. A week goes by and no response so I log in to the support site to find that there are no support requests listed!!! I guess it was deleted by one of your staff? Rejected for not being a valid gamertag? I then go back to the confirmation email and see there's an option to reply directly, so I do that and wait another couple of days. Still nothing. So here I am, you've left me little choice to now post this publicly. Please sort this out! There's probably only a few sats in my account TBH but it's the fact of the matter, and also the amount of time I've wasted trying to sort this out, that is bugging me! Not a great look at all.

And another journey to the Lake District begins! An overnight stop in London, including the evening at Brixton Bitcoin meetup, then I head to the Lakes first thing in the morning. Myself, and a handful of other bitcoiners, will be setting off to do ~38 miles across 18 fells (a fell is a very big hill, something close in size to a mountain), running, hiking, scrambling, or however we see fit. 24 hours to finish starting from midday on Friday. Can't wait. The weather is looking absolutely shite for it though!

Pura Vida! So I finally got around to writing a NIP for meetup communities, as per the app I've been building. I'd love some feedback. there's a working example of how I believe this should work here: https://www.inmytown.social/ And for any devs that want to have a look or comment, the proposal is here: And the pull request is here: Cheers ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป image

I just pushed a whole load of changes to https://www.inmytown.social/ (my Meetups on NOSTR app) It now uses NIP-52 time based calendar and RSVP events, alongside some unofficial kinds for creating and following meetup communities. If you were one of the small number of people that had created a community already then you'll need to update the community for it to display correctly, and existing meetup events will no longer show (AFAIK they had all passed the event date anyway) I've added a breakdown of the event kinds to github here: and suppose I'll formalise this in to a NIP proposal at some point soon too. I'd love your feedback ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป but for now it's time to get way from the screen for a while! Pura Vida!

Pura Vida! I'm off to Riga and will be away for over a week so decided to finally put my Nostr Meetup app online. It's very a much a work in progress, probably buggy as hell, and I'm also a bit of a typescript noob and never used sveltekit before so it's beena lot of learning as I go. It is also still not in line with NIP-52 (calendar events) I'm afraid, I'd built the bulk of this before I realised that was a thing and at the moment I'm using some custom event kinds that aren't part of any NIP. Feel free to have a play around with it here: https://www.inmytown.social At time of writing you need to select Brighton UK as the location to see any content at all as the only communities and events have been added by myself at that location. You are of course welcome to create content for other places. To create content, comment, join communities or mark yourself as attending an event, you need to use a signer extension like Nos2x or Alby. image

Finally got around to listening to this. I know a lot of bitcoiners have been singing its praises. So... this is what MSM talking heads have been calling "far right"!? Calling out the abuses of "the man", and for worker rights are far right talking points now!? OK! Personally I can imagine him singing alongside anti war, anti capitalist anarcho folk singers of the 60s and 70s, Phil Ochs and people like that. But whatever. I like him. And apparently his message is reaching the hearts and minds of people from many different walks of life. Good. I do actually see why some people got their knickers in a twist about a couple of verses. The one about the obese living off welfare for example. He's not wrong though, it is indicative of a broken system, and it's unclear what his actual opinions on stuff like welfare actually are, per se. You've probably listened already, but if not I recommend it. ๐Ÿ™

This is really disappointing! I've been really liking Primal, it's actually been my favourite client of late, and there's obviously a need to be able to mute content, but I don't want to use any client that restricts what I see without my consent! View quoted note โ†’

Pura Vida! Here's a few screen grabs of something I've been working on this last couple of weeks! Meetup communities and events on NOSTR. I just noticed that a new NIP (52 - Calendar events) got approved a few days ago which looks partially similar to what I've been working on, so I'll be looking at whether I can work with those specs in some way. I think the author has something similar in mind, although I'm not sure it's an exact fit for what I've been planning. Anyway, I should have a working version up for people to play with, and code to inspect, in the next few days sometime. Maybe early next week. ๐Ÿ™

Pura Vida, nostriches! Been ages since I've shared something for #NewMusicFriday (is it even still a thing!?) Anyway, I'm in love with these live versions that Chinchilla does. Here's the latest: If you like that then you'll probably *love* the live version she did of Fingers. I recently discovered this artist through her collaboration with Ren, Chalk Lines, which is an absolute masterpiece. If you've not heard that either then definitely check it out, and if you've somehow been living under a rock this last 6 months and don't know who Ren is then definitely go listen to Hi Ren ( and then dive down the Ren rabbit hole of a whole plethora of โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ that spans multiple genres, styles and emotions (a lot of it's quite hard hitting, tackling issues of mental health and struggle, but much of it is also equally inspiring) Have a great weekend and don't let the bastards get you down! ๐Ÿ™โœŠ

GM nostriches! I can only really apologise for not being on here for so long! Development on bija drew to halt some months ago now and I guess I've been embarrassed to admit I took on more than I can commit to for the long term. I doubt at this point that I'll continue with the project, it hadn't gained much traction anyway, but have some ideas for some smaller projects/micro-apps that I may be able to work on when I find the time. I'd still really like to contribute to this amazing space in some capacity and believe Nostr has, and helps usher in, a bright future. On a related note, I have 2 relays running since early in the year and it's costing quite a lot to do so. Unfortunately I'll be closing down pow.nostrati.com in the coming days as hardly anyone actually uses it (it's been freely available to use for anyone with a public key that has a certain amount of POW performed on it, but that is sadly not a use case that has caught on). I don't currently have plans to shut down the paid relay relay.nostrati.com, but I'll see how it goes, fees are only covering a very small % of the server costs. For now I'm just looking at that as a small contribution I can make here. Y'all are awesome! Pura Vida ๐Ÿ™

Checking out Plebstr for Android. Seems really slick and user friendly... is it closed source though? I can't find any Github or info on their website.

Well, what an adventure Costa Rica was! Amazing country! I've not been on here for well over a week, since I discovered that someone was trying to gain access to various accounts of mine. Still not exactly sure what happened but somehow someone got hold of a whole load of my data, I wasn't able to deal with it properly while travelling but the data that was accessed suggests a physical access of one my machines, so I remote shut down my home server, and didn't load up my laptop again until back home. So far as I can tell whoever it was has now given up, all of their attempts thwarted. They managed to get in to my Amazon and make some orders but the payments were blocked. They also managed to change my OTP method on Amazon, and had made a request to Amazon for all my data (which I think means they had some copy of my ID, perhaps passport). Again this was all reverted and blocked before any damage was done. They also attempted to access various other accounts and the strange thing was that these accounts use different emails. This is why I think there was probably a physical access of one of my machines, probably my laptop while travelling, as the accounts they went after are ones that would be likely to have been open and logged in to in my browser. The other options I can think of where someone could have discovered various different emails are someone gaining remote access to one of my machines, or someone compromising my password manager, in both cases I suspect the damage would've been far worse. There does also appear to be some possibility that someone has unsuccessfully tried to open a bank account using my details, so I need to deal with that tomorrow. And it does obviously beg the question of what else they may have attempted, or gotten away with. Anyway, I'm back home now and am actually fairly optimistic that the most this has cost me is a waste of my time, as well as their own. Here's to a new, more privacy focussed, world being built where things like this are harder for people to get away with! ๐Ÿป Pura Vida!

Pura vida! I don't have a lot of connectivity where I am so won't be on here much but here's a little taste of my day at Parqe Nacional Volcan Tenorio, not too far from the Nicaragua border. Rio Celeste runs through the park and is famous for its blue colour, the waterfall was one of my favourite spots during the day. Just get rid of the noisy people and it would be perfect ๐Ÿคฃ
