Not important.

This. Time is precious. I like to measure time/value in heartbeats. It grounds that impulse to buy something, to compromise on your wages, or to submit to false authority. Your life is being stolen from you. It’s vampiric. Demonic. Evil in every way. Escaping the system isn’t a cause - it’s a biological imperative. “Rules without rulers” isn’t an innovation. It’s evolution. View quoted note →

Unpopular opinion: V4V is great and works. Zapping just because is not and doesn’t. It creates an atmosphere of beggars and attention salesman. Is this what you want nostr to become? That place people go to beg for loose sats? The place where scammers and “influencer” (the used car salesman of the internet age) go to prey on the populace most likely to have the hardest money on earth? Be wise. Save your sats for when it matters. You aren’t giving away fiat anymore. Every. Sat. Matters. Very soon, every sat you throw away on bums and scammers will be lost to you, forever. If someone is *provably* needy, give them sats. If you’re u sure, give them education (and, therefore, a way out of the pit). Those who’ve hit bottom before *knows* everything - even education - is appreciated. If someone or something honestly brings value to your life, give them sats. But think hard about what those sats WILL be worth - judge by that value, not today’s fiat representation. We know fiat is a poor measuring stick. Be wise. Be vigilant. Be discerning. Everyone is going to come after your sats, like you’re in the desert with water. Don’t give it away to those who waste it, give it to those helping to build an oasis or are on the verge of death. You’ve been given a gift of being early. This is a privilege. Do not squander it, or the market won’t entrust you with it anymore.

Yes. If you save your heartbeats in bitcoin, you clearly don’t understand bitcoin and are a fiat maxi. Logic checks out. Only big brains will get this./s Maybe people like this would be happier with bitcoin cash. It’s the same argument Roger Ver makes. View quoted note →

Ordering online is easy and convenient… until you realize how risky it all is, either for you or the merchant. The only guaranty of profit is to the money middlemen. Buy things online in bitcoin or lightning. Immediately, you can feel the trust involved. You can feel the lack of options if the other side screws you. It seems to me that in a bitcoin standard, online shopping will be much more scarce and reputation-based. People will prefer shopping in-person. Brick and mortars will be preferred for common goods. You may even get to know the patron/customers. Local economies will be stronger. Global economies weaken as imports/exports slow way down. People are forced into caring more about their local environment - its people, its merchants, its crime, its poverty, its health, its overall attractiveness to outsiders so that it can grow. If it gets too big, at some point it naturally partitions and neighborhoods form. Money without middlemen would unwind most of the last 80-100 years of commerce.

Fourth Turning on display. I will not be surprised if Appalachia leads it in the US. Politicians pissed off the wrong people. View quoted note →
