How the Deep State Works in the UK & US Many only think of the deep state as those that kill people or threaten them. In reality it is much more likely career bureaucrats use techniques. Yes, Minister! is a great show and it shows how both sides of the coin of power work against each other and with each other. It is surprisingly honest. DOGE did fairly well considering but still hit the deep state walls. I didn't want to be right about the effort but I'm pretty sure I will be proven to be right. Little will change.

The Ethnic Cleansing Of Germans After WW2 > The Allied victory in 1945 brought relief and joy to Europe, but to some people it was the start of a new nightmare. As the Allies celebrated their victory over the genocidal Nazi regime, Europe was experiencing the start of another ethnic cleansing that would target millions of people purely because of the way they were born or the language they spoke. Millions of innocent people would be removed from their ancestral homes, stripped of their rights and dignity, and told that they deserved it. Torture, rape, and murder awaited hundreds of thousands of them. Lies of omission are often more powerful that an outright lie. I remember when I learned as a young man that following the US entrance to WW1 many German immigrants were persecuted. Tarred and feathered. Some killed. I had never heard this before. Even though my great grandfather was a German immigrant. We humans fail to learn the lessons from history. Everyone suffers from war. Except the elites. The politicians and the bankers/corporate overlords. It struck me at the time I learned about this how Bin Laden is said to have stated that there are no innocent people in the US because they did nothing to stop the US wars in the holy land. That's one way to view the world I guess. It clearly isn't new. Its as old as time and leads to never ending bloodshed.

Right-Wing Commentator Threatens Law-Abiding Gun Owners Bringing Guns To DC To be clear... this doesn't surprise me. Both sides of the political spectrum hate liberty. They don't want strong sovereign people that don't need them. They want obedient foot soldiers. The so-called conservative movement is full of people like this. They are cool with you having a gun as long as you follow their orders. As soon as you are threat to their power you are in the cross hairs. And by the way. These ICE protesters, some of them might have their hearts in the right place but they are also foot soldiers being used by political forces to win elections. That's it. They want a different ruler. They want the set of rules their team is lying to them about. One side might be worse than the other but neither really supports liberty and has your best interests in mind. You cross them. You are the enemy. They don't care about the Constitution or your rights. Don't kid yourself. You might want to align with one side. Fine. But do so with your eyes open.

The Truth About Alex Pretti Minnesota Shooting - Colion Noir I like Colion Noir when it comes to fire arms content. I like him on other things too but he really makes a lot of sense to me here. From what I've seen the vast majority of commentary on these ICE shootings are coming from a political frame, not a non-political right to defend one's self (2A). It is clear that Trump and many of his fans are saying things that are in direct contradiction to people that believe in our right to carry arms and defend ourselves. It is important to separate that right from our opinions on the two sides. You can love what ICE is doing or hate it. That's not hard to discern. I hear a lot of people that never defend 2A defending it in this case. I hear a lot of people that claim to care about 2A dropping that over politics. Noir does a great job focusing on the gun and legal aspects of it.

Is Social Contract theory sound or nonsensical? The idea of a _"social contract"_ is the idea that political authority is justified because people agree—explicitly or implicitly—to trade some freedom for security, order, and mutual benefit. Stackers that are familiar with my content here probably can guess where I land but I am curious where others land and why.

Is Nick Fuentes Good, Bad, or Neutral for the Right Wing Movement Broadly? Not asking if you like him, agree with him, or think ill/good of him. Not asking if you align with his positions. I have thoughts, but like Trump I wonder if he's more of a change agent, or result/reaction. And I wonder if his rise is going to be good/bad/indifferent for the movement long term. It could be that his rise sparks thought and debate that has been outside of the 3x5 index card. It could be that he is simply another figure that is used to discredit people. He could be sincere. He could be an OP. Not the point of this poll. Is he Good / BAD or Neutral for the larger tent of right of center politics and the ideas. I would include conservatives, libertarians, agorists, and anarcho-capitalists in the right of center category. Clearly some in the movement are trying to co-op his audience and his audience seems larger than many realize. Especially among younger men. What do you think?

My default position to trust no politican regardless of what they say or what party they join has aged pretty well. Many misunderstand trust. "Firm belief in the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing; confidence or reliance." Is it wise to trust a class of people that have a long track record of lying and deceiving those they claim to work for? If you wanted to show your son or daughter an example of a person with character would you most likely point to a politician? Is it wise to rely on a politician for anything important in your life? You can like what a politician does sometimes but trusting them always seems like a fools errand to me. But that's me.
