It is now August! ☀️⛱️
Did you know that 33 states set their “all-time” 𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐒𝐓 high temperature records before 1955? 🌡️
Of those, eight Midwestern states set their August records in 1936 while seven New England, Great Lakes and Mid-Atlantic states set theirs back in 1918.
The highest temperature recorded in August in the United States is 130°F (54.4°C), which was set recently at Death Valley on August 16, 2020. However, the “all-time” record there is 134°F (56.7°C), which was set on July 10, 1913. 🥇 /Chris Martz on X
