Time for Miami, my only plan is to sit and hangout at the open source stage.

The lightning network lost a net total of 1100 public channels and 76 Bitcoin in capacity over the last one week.
Absolute shit show.
Saying thank you is better than zapping someone.
Why do people come to a bar and drink Miller Lite, Coors light and Bud light from a bottle?
Bruh, drink at home.
Zero fee nodes on the network.

Exactly what we need in the current mempool situation. ๐

The more I read about BRC-20, the more my head hurts.
Good morning! Banks doing what banks always do.

Force close effects! ๐
I'm very happy for happy for Blixt Wallet and Hampus Sjoberg for getting the HRF fund. Well deserved.
Also, the largest grant to Kalvin Kim is very well deserved for the work on Utreexo which I'm very bullish on.
Good news, mempool is 50% cheaper than yesterday!
Building stuff with the latest and greatest new thing is a waste of time. Sticking to what you already know and works makes you build things so much more faster.
I waste more time deciding on my tech stack than actually focusing on building things.
Everyone should follow @Lightning Force Close Detection Bot to see the how painful running a lightning node is right now.
Good morning. Is Muun wallet obselete yet?
Plebnet right now!

If you run a routing node, things you could do if you haven't done already to reduce the possibility of force closures because the current mempool situation is crazy.
1. Stop automated rebalances
2. Raise fees
3. Raise cltv delta (mine's 120)
4. Raise minhtlc to only forward large payments.
5. Pray to the mempool gods.

I'm going to raise fees on my routing node. Current mempool situation is so bad that I cannot afford a force closure. Raising fees will reduce the number of htlcs I forward and it's probably a good thing for now.
In 2023 if you're writing any JS code, both frontend or backend, start using Deno. You won't regret.
The narrative of high chain fees being good for lightning network needs to stop. High chain fees is horrible for the lightning network. It kills it.
