Sharing yourself with the world, the universe, is, in a broad sense, the meaning of life. Because life prepares us for death and in death, we give our very lives to the universe and dissipate into the cosmic unity of everything. The process already starts when we are born. Everywhere we go and everything we do, think, say, we leave traces of ourselves, our ideas, our love, our life energy as it flows through us. So as we live out our lives, we are continually sharing, discarding and giving away fragments of ourselves to the world. The death of the physical body and thus letting go of any worldly possessions and relationships is just the final note that the whole symphony crescendos towards. Thus, I believe, one of the goals in the game of life is to give away as much of yourself as possible before the actual death. The more you give, the more united you become with the source and the easier and more pleasant the process of passing away will be. (written 3 December, 2022)
