‏ورد ذكر الرئيس المصري الراحل محمد مرسي في وثائق قضية جيفري إبستين التي أفرجت عنها مؤخرًا وزارة العدل الأمريكية، وذلك أكثر من 234 مرة، ضمن تقارير ونشرات أعدّها مراقبون ومحللون دوليون. ومن بين هذه الوثائق تقرير مؤرخ في فبراير/شباط 2013، يتناول دور مرسي في التوسط لإنهاء الحرب على غزة في 21 نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني 2012. وجاء في نص الوثيقة: «لقد تدخل مرسي في نوفمبر الماضي لإنهاء الحرب في غزة، وقدم ضمانات، من دون أن يعطي مؤشرًا إيجابيًا بشأن عملية السلام مع إسرائيل. كما أنه لم يتواصل مباشرة مع قادة إسرائيل، وهو ما يثير القلق حول مستقبل العلاقات المصرية–الإسرائيلية في ظل رئاسته. ومع تدهور الأوضاع الاقتصادية واقتراب الانتخابات، يُتوقع أن تتزايد رغبة مرسي في تأجيج المشاعر القومية المعادية لإسرائيل، لا سيما أن قاعدته الشعبية تُعد مؤيدة للقضية الفلسطينية بشكل مطلق».

The meeting, attended by top Israeli security officials, reflected Israel’s view of US regional moves, including talks with Iran, as a major security issue requiring firm red lines before any negotiations begin.

After Israel killed 71,000 Palestinians during the genocide and destroyed 99% of Gaza neighbourhoods, it's now allegedly citing “health concerns” over smoking as a reason to block cigarettes from entering the Strip. Israeli officials claim cigarettes are not humanitarian aid because they are “harmful to health,” turning a blind eye to the deadly conditions, such as bombing, starvation, disease, and lack of medicine. Critics say the real motive is economic and political, as Israel fears tobacco sales could generate revenue for Hamas. The ban has caused cigarette prices in Gaza to skyrocket, with single cigarettes reaching $15 and packs costing $300. According to Nahum Barnea, a columnist for Yedioth Ahronoth, the “coordinator of operations in the territories,” who decides what goods enter Gaza, has ruled that cigarettes are not humanitarian items because they are “harmful to health.” Barnea sarcastically noted that this wave of “humanitarian concern” almost moved him to tears.
