You see these sats that I've earned ? Once I send them to my hardware wallet then they're truly mine. They're not yours, they're not ZBD's, they're not coinbase's sats, they'll be my sats. My piece of the scarcest asset in the world. Nobody can take them, nobody can tell me who I can or can't send them to, nobody can confiscate them from me, the US government can't freeze it if I've been a bad boy because I hold my own private keys.
You wanna know the beautiful thing about it ? I can memorize a simple string of 12-24 word phrase, wipe my hardware wallet clean, burn my seed phrase copy and store my Bitcoin in my own mind through memorization of my private key. I can be my own bank without any wallet or written passcode because the Bitcoin block chain is just a ledger of transactions and unspent transaction out puts / UTXO's and it'll sit on that ledger until I'm ready to spend it. I can go anywhere in the world and recover my BTC safely on any software or hardware wallet that supports BIP 32 (basically all of them)
My destiny is in my own hands, I am in full control of my wealth. This is what makes Bitcoin so special, nobody can stop it, nobody can censor it. You'd have to turn off the Internet globally if you want to stop people from downloading Bitcoin core and the entire Bitcoin ledger to run a full node.
