A few years ago a poll on our small account (~5k followers) would receive hundreds of votes and thousands of views. Peak videos hundreds of thousands… Doesn’t look good for our little shop. No reach is no sales.

Today is quite a special day for us. One of the first products we started to offer quite a few years ago was the CryptoTag Zeus. It was a great product and people loved it. At some point we were saturated in backup solutions and we just send people straight to their own website. Recently plebs started to reach out to us as their new product, the Loki is great. We agree, it’s one of the most simple and adequate backup solutions. The issue, Cryptotag stopped accepting bitcoin and they can’t get the product anonymously anymore. We reached out to cryptotag and asked why they shut down their bitcoin payment option. Banks pushed them to stop accepting bitcoin or they would lose their bank account. Now of course we will be here to list their product and offer it to you for bitcoin.

Our stock levels are at the lowest level in 3 years. The last two orders of the year are products that did not exist in our shop at the end of last year. This year was lower volume, higher quality. The orders this year were on average, how can we say it neatly, “more serious”. If we look at order breakdown over the year and compare it with last year. The bitcoin volume was lower than last year. The fiat volume increased. In this overview consultancy and project numbers are not incorporated. Next year we are aiming to increase the volume of bitcoin payments. How can we explain better that fiat payments leak data and are more expensive on the merchant side?

In 2026, should we kill the fiat rails on our webshop and become bitcoin only again? Currently shop intake (couple $100k) is 70% fiat. We convert it all directly into bitcoin when we sell items. It’s now been almost 2 years since a payment provider for fiat granted us the use of fiat rails again. We lost that back in 2022, because we were “doing something with bitcoin”. So many people are paying with creditcards or Apple Pay while your data is spread through payment provider and banks into a lot of databases you don’t want to be in… Especially in EU.

In the BENELUX there are three major bitcoin only webshops. During the amsterdam bitcoin conference we were coincidentally meeting at the same time, so a perfect opportunity for a picture. Rob of bitsaga was standing in the back of our Eindhoven meetups quietly looking how to start his shop and helping people with self custody. His company bitsaga has now been running a few years. Mario started with his shop, bitcoinstuffstore, a couple years ago and is specialized in customer experience. He started to list products we would distribute and gained significant market share. He started to distribute products himself and grew much faster than we did. In bitcoin there is no competition, there’s only a strengthening of the network and bitcoin. It’s amazing to see how far we have come already and where we’re heading next. Wishing our “concullegas” a fantastic Xmas and happy new year!
