It really looks like big tech is, once again, extracting money from oss devs/teams with LLM products that only run on centralized walled garden platforms. Other note: the OpenAI api is the only thing actually open, just let me put my own api url into it. That's all you have to do. Thanks.

Unless I'm missing something the step from free Letsencrypt certs to small PKI with intermediates is outrageously expensive no? Digicert and Verisign want a few hundred $ per month, and providers only offer managed solutions. What if I want to manage my own intermediate CA bundle? Who sells that at a reasonable price?

I was able to finalize some business closing stuff in 2024 and 2025 and I will finally be letting some unused domains expire. Some of these domains I've held on to for over a decade now. It's a weird feeling, good feeling though. Good to get stuff out from over my head. Ill get to save about $42 this year XD

13 y/o me was just excited that 100mb ethernet only required 4 conductors. The only other issue is that in the US in the 90s rj11 was only wired with 2 conductors so a little bit of rewiring was necessary. Anyway. I later found out you can run 2.5gb over coax, with slightly over 1ms of latency that grows to about 3ms at capacity. View quoted note →

Did I mention my workstation is actually a laptop. Had a really good fleabay price. It will be hard wired, but technically it's a laptop form factor XD. I've become a Dell fanboy over the years
