I was disappointed when the Pixel 7A phone was released without a ceramic body. The rumors all said it would. At least it's not glass backed. Why anyone would want more of a slippery, easily fractured material than strictly necessary on their pocket computer is beyond me.

Do politicians think strong encryption is suddenly going to be un-invented and forgotten? If you replace popular apps' end-to-end encryption with backdoored versions, criminals will simply switch to other apps. It makes no sense. A college sophomore could write an E2EE chat app and put it on GitHub in a week. Is all crypto going to be outlawed? What are they going to do about TLS? It's ludicrous.
I can check out an ebook from the library, but only if there are copies available. Think about that.

The new Flash movie was good for a DC movie, but that's not really saying much.
Anybody heard of this? Is it a NOSTR competitor? As far as I can tell it basically is NOSTR but for Ethereum, using smart contracts for coordination instead of relays. The Farcaster site's use of the term "sufficiently decentralized" and saying that it's in "private beta" makes me a bit wary though.

"Let's write eighty-four as XXCIV," said no one with half a brain.
Backwards compatibility is like using Roman numerals. Only the Romans could design a numbering system so bad that we're still using it thousands of years later.
Blatant economic illiteracy on the front page of MarketWatch. Full of quotations from "a liberal-leaning consumer-advocacy group" to justify some sort of "action by Congress" to confront this supposed problem. Maybe Inflation Reduction Act Part 2? Yeah that turned out great.

Apple sells you a glued together piece of crap for triple the price of an equivalent specs device from Dell or HP. Never liked it.
Fact: the mango is the king of fruit.
Nostr needs gamers. That's how Discord grew so much. Would be a great fit for open source games!
Where are all the people who love peanut butter?

Reddit's self-destructing.
Let me think, is there some type decentralized social media that solves this issue? Hmm…
