🏗 The Rooftop Project : One Step at a Time I’ve already talked to you about this project, but today I want to give you a little update and, most importantly, be honest with you. On **July 22nd**, I started a project that means a lot to me: **building an 8m × 4m room on the rooftop slab of my family home.** Why? Because I want to have my own space. A place where I can live, work, create, think, and continue building my projects. Most importantly, I want to become more independent. The full project is estimated at **2,414,500 FCFA (~$4,236)**. Yes, that's a lot. But I don't want to focus on the 2.4 million today. **I want to start with one first step.** 🧱 **The staircase.** The initial estimate for the staircase was **257,000 FCFA (~$451)**. Since the launch, you have already contributed a total of **152,500 sats (~$100)**. And those sats didn't just sit somewhere. On **July 25th**, they allowed us to buy gravel. Today, we already have on site: • Sand • Gravel • Around 10 bags of cement So yes... **The project has started. ❤** It's no longer just an idea I'm sharing with you. There are already materials on the ground. To complete the staircase, we mainly need to cover the steel/rebar, the ironworker's labor, the formwork, the mason's labor, and a few additional bags of cement. Thanks to what we already have, we now estimate that we need around: 🎯 **200,000 FCFA (~$351)** --- 🎂 **And my birthday is coming on September 2nd.** So I had an idea. Why not turn my birthday into a little challenge? **200,000 FCFA before midnight on September 2nd.** Can we complete this first step together? I don't want to call it a birthday gift. A dream that lasted for 3 years has finally become a reality. And it’s all thanks to you. 🧡 Last week, for the very first time, I crossed the borders of my country to represent @Hope With ₿itcoin in Togo at the Derby Digital conference. This trip, which simply would not have been possible without your support, means so much to me. So, from the bottom of my heart: thank you. This journey allowed me to get the very first stamp in the passport I had obtained back in 2023. But beyond this personal milestone, it gave me the opportunity to take Hope With Bitcoin beyond the borders of Benin. I met inspiring people, connected with members of the ecosystem, shared our vision, and discussed how we use Bitcoin to create real impact in people’s lives. We exchanged ideas, built new connections, and most importantly, Hope With Bitcoin was offered a space where we can organize Bitcoin education activities for children. 🧡 I also had the chance to build meaningful connections with the Togolese community and with people who came from different parts of the world. Three intense days filled with encounters, learning, sharing, and unforgettable moments. And during these conversations, a new idea was born: 🌍Hope With Bitcoin Orphanage World Tour A challenge to take Hope With Bitcoin from one orphanage to another, not only across Benin, but hopefully around the world. The goal is simple: spend time with children and give them love, joy, listening, and education. For several days in each orphanage, we want to create moments of fun, organize Bitcoin education sessions, but above all, take the time to listen to the children, hear their stories, and learn from them. A true journey of an Hope Nomad. A journey where, wherever we go, we leave a little bit of **Hope With Bitcoin** behind. 🌍🧡 Coming back home wasn’t really what I wanted. 😅 But I had to return so I could prepare for what comes next. For the past few years, I've dedicated much of my time to building @Hope With ₿itcoin . Together, we've raised millions of sats, supported orphanages, provided meals, distributed school supplies, and introduced more people to Bitcoin and Nostr. But behind all of that, I've been building from a shared room in my family's home. Today, I'm taking a personal step toward becoming more independent. I'm raising funds to build a modest room on our existing rooftop. It won't just be my home, it will also be the workspace where I'll continue building Hope With Bitcoin, creating educational content, and working with Bitcoin projects. There are moments in life that remind you why your work matters. Today, something happened that I had been fearing for a long time. I knew this day would eventually come, but I never imagined it would arrive so soon. I'm not wealthy. I don't come from a rich family. I don't have an inheritance waiting for me. I'm simply a young man trying to build a future for myself, spending countless hours every day sending job applications here and there, hoping that someone, somewhere, will give me an opportunity. But beyond my personal struggles, I chose to create @Hope With ₿itcoin because I believe Bitcoin is not only about money. Bitcoin is about people. It is about freedom. It is about helping each other and creating real impact. Thanks to the incredible support of this community, we have been able to bring smiles, food, and hope to people who needed it the most. Last year, just before the beginning of the school year, your contributions allowed us to provide school supplies to more than **22 children** whose parents did not have the financial means to buy everything they needed. To some people, it was just notebooks, backpacks, pens, and pencils. But to those families... It was much more than that. It was dignity. It was relief. It was hope. Many people think that I personally have a lot of money because they see the impact of these actions. The reality is very different. Every meal we have provided. Every school supply we have distributed. Every smile we have created. It was possible because of **you**. The Bitcoin community made it happen. Today, after spending another exhausting day in my room sending CVs and searching for opportunities, I decided to go outside for a walk to clear my mind. While walking, I heard someone calling me. "Big brother... please wait! I want to talk to you." I turned around and saw a woman waving at me. As someone who respects people, I walked toward her and asked what she wanted to talk about. She immediately reminded me of the school supplies distribution we organized last year. She thanked me again and then asked me a simple question: "Will you organize another school supply distribution this year?" For a few moments, I remained silent. Because I honestly didn't know what to answer. I explained to her that Hope With Bitcoin is not funded by me personally. This mission exists because of the generosity and support of the Bitcoin community. I told her that, for now, we don't know if we will be able to organize another school supply distribution this year. But we are praying that God sends us supporters, donors, and partners who believe in this mission and will help us make it possible. I encouraged her to pray with us as well. We wished each other well, and we continued our separate ways. But her question stayed in my mind. The new school year is only **two months away**. For some families, this is a moment of excitement. For others, it is a moment of anxiety because they don't know how they will provide the basic school materials their children need. That woman's question was not just about notebooks or backpacks.
