I have said prior that we have already achieved a semblance of immortality, at least in the digital plane. As of 2023, I can train AI on your texts, images, video interviews, podcasts, blog posts and social media to create a full end-to-end text, audio, and video likeness of a person. Import that likeness into VR/AR and a lot of interesting ideas start flowing. Relieve your favorite experiences with your friends that may or may not still be here. Meet your deceased family members and have conversations with them. Listen to famous speeches from dictators “live in person”. People will pay for this and use it for therapeutic, personal, and exploratory purposes. It’s very much akin to “Upload” if you’ve watched that show. You are already immortal and not by your choice. You cannot stop your loved ones from recreating you based on all the output we provide today.

A question was asked during the client panel at #Nostrica regarding if client developers would accept other funding such as VC-backed. Each developer answered it beautifully but I take a different approach. My nostr software will never accept VC funding. It’s not in a state currently to even consider doing so, and in my opinion nostr is freedom and open and free code provides an outlet to those that ultimately need it in times of need. Nothing against anyone that needs to procure funding as I’ve done that in other software markets. Each use case is different and I code as a hobby, not a full time job as they do so the parameters are different. It’s a tough situation as the panel articulately described.

The client talk currently at #Nostrica is fascinating. It will be interesting to see how the differening opinions on content, algorythms, relay management, middleware, and how to handle issues like bandwidth and scaling play out over time.
