#[0]​ eloquently asserts: Prices fall to the marginal costs of production. Technology is growing at an exponential rate, which should make prices of everything fall, and fall faster every year. Our system is based on debt/credit, so the only way for the system to pay for its debt is to continually increase the money supply (inflating the currency and devaluing the money), causing some people to keep up (house owners, stock owners, anyone close to the money printer) but leaving most of us having higher prices without wages keeping up, thus decreasing our standard of living because we all have less purchasing power.

Is inflation necessary for a productive economy? A simple but profound question raised by #[0]​ Growing up, as you learn about saving and investing, the average person just sees that the expected inflation rate is 2%, but we never questioned why! I remember looking at retirement calculators in college and trying to figure out why the hell my money would be worth less in the future. It wasn’t until falling down the #Bitcoin rabbit hole that I began to see that it is a function of the system.
