One of my best friends, a normie, is pestering me about using WhatsApp again, simply because I am not convenient for her to communicate with. 1. At this time, I legit can't. My number was flagged for suspicious activity (using a VPN Meta doesn't like) and so I can't use any Meta apps. (This actually pleases me greatly.) 2. Clicking over to another app and messaging me is too much work? How lazy have you gotten? After this trip (to celebrate a big number birthday for her) I am really going to have to question my association with all of that group. It's painful to do so, but... If I'm not worth the amount of bother it is to call/text, then I'm not worth bothering with at all. I'm not going to be grumpy about this, but that conversation has put me in a bit of a maudlin mood.

Fixed my dad's John Deere mower. This is what occasioned my good morning post about tap drivers. The previous owner had really boogered up quite a lot of things on this mower, including stripping out most of the threads that hold on the ignition coil, so when we replaced that, the coil wasn't staying in place and was smacking the magnet. I drilled out the previous threads (5mm) and upsized them to 6mmx1.25 and used some leftover bolts from my Honda (really good quality JIS hardware) for the coil, which needed to have the adjustment slots opened up to accommodate the larger bolts. My dad is very happily mowing the lawn now. That's a very good feeling.

I've found nothing better in my many years of metal fabrication. You don't need to fumble with a wrenches in tight quarters or risk not applying force inline to start the tap straight. They don't slip when the proper drive size is chosen, so you can properly blast through tough materials with less chance of breakage. You end up with better threads and longer lasting taps.
