The greatest injustice to a protocol is telling others how to use it.
This reminds me of the game of chess when Wilhelm Steinitz fundamentally changed chess by transforming it from a largely tactical, romantic game into a positional and strategic discipline. Before Steinitz, many top players favored aggressive attacks, gambits, and spectacular sacrifices, often launching assaults without sufficient preparation. Steinitz argued that attacks should only succeed when supported by real positional advantages. He introduced the idea that chess positions contain small, accumulative factor, such as pawn structure, king safety, control of key squares, and piece activity, that determine whether an attack is justified.
Same here with nostr. Right now a lot of the innovation is cool vibe-coding and then everyone to follow the mystic prowess of the vibe-coders. But every once in a while, an idea that advances a real strategic advantage is discovered, much to the chagrin of many.
Thanks, @Alex Gleason for introducing another strategic advantage - a p2tr address for every npub. It might look like an attack vector for social media, but is is a helluva opportunity for digital trade documentation, where funds can be exchanged between parties transparently without the complexity of Lightning.

Amazon should stop selling these. Seriously.

Not because I should or should not, but because I can.
I created a utility that enables me to query any NIP-05 address and see if there is a bitcoin balance against it. See balances for @Vitor Pamplona @jb55 @ODELL @Gigi @npub108pv...yev6 and @Derek Ross
The point here is that it can be done, so you need to figure this into your risk equation as a potential attack vector, asap. Your nsec is not only valuable for its reputation, but also money that might be attached to it.

this is so cool. I built a utility so I can query any npub and see what balance it has. @Alex Gleason @Vitor Pamplona @Derek Ross

I just implemented the on-chain address for digital trade documentation. I also tried sending funds to the corresponding address - it worked!

Wow, this might suck for social media, but it's genius for digital trade documentation- I just added a corresponding bitcoin address foe each signer based on the nsec.

Gearing up for a serious fight for our freedom in Canada.

I echo this: Kill Bill C-22.
The lawful access provisions have been waiting in the wings for over 20 years - ever since post 9/11. Someone is always looking for the opportunity to pop these provisions into legislation and expecting to slip it by parliamentarians. I still have faith in democracy, but my faith in the bureaucracy supporting democracy is rapidly diminishing.
What is ironic about these provisions is that they were originally prompted by the reaction to the ‘fentanyl crisis’. I find it almost laughable; it’s a security own-goal - in our eagerness to respond to a so-called crisis by our neighbours to the south, we are willing to giving up our freedom to those who don’t respect our freedom.
To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. To say that I need to be surveilled, ‘just because it is a lack of respect for me as a Canadian.
