Over a month ago, my truck got wrecked, and the insurance company (let's keep them anonymous) has yet to offer me a fair deal. So, I did what anyone in need of a truck would do - I bought a beat-up 2006 F250 from an auction. A little time, a few YouTube tutorials, and a couple of hundred bucks in parts later, it was running well enough for what I needed. Yesterday, I put this old truck to the test. I hooked it up to my gooseneck trailer, loaded my tractor on, and drove it over to the kids' school for some community cleanup and shredding work. The truck, despite its age and condition, pulled through without a hitch. An old truck, with some care, can still do the job. I feel like that old truck today. I think I need some time and work on myself to see what the future holds. I have some work left in me and I know I can get the job done.

Yesterday a friend of mine told me "it's better to spend energy... with those that are interested." While it sounds simple it's very easy to forget this. It got me to think about why this is true. Focus Your Energy Where It Matters Most We have Limited Resources: Time, energy, and capital are finite. We can't afford to dilute our efforts trying to convince those who are indifferent or opposed. Instead, we should channel these resources towards individuals and communities showing curiosity or enthusiasm. When you engage with an audience that's eager to learn, the educational process is more effective. You'll find more open minds, leading to deeper discussions, better understanding, and ultimately, more advocates. I have found this to be true time and again this past year. When I am with like minded people I feel encouraged and energized. Yet, I keep finding myself back among the skeptics over and over again. I need to remember to focus, the winners will be those who invested their time wisely.
