Chewing it helpes clean the teeth, remove food particles, and combat oral bacteria, thereby preventing tooth decay and gum diseases. Breath Freshening: The aromatic compounds in pine sap act as a natural mouth freshener, masking any foul odors. Appetite Suppression: During times when food was scarce or during long hunting trips, chewing pine sap gum helped suppress hunger pangs. I went the winter on less then 4 cords, I have about a rick left. Last winter in my smaller RV I didn't have my stove instaledl and went through about 3 1/2 120# bottles of propane, this winter I only used 1/8th of one 120# bottle of propane. Much cheaper heat.

Depending on the temperature that bone is retorted at, it will have different properties. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0048969724065318 Bone-char is what is used in filters that remove floride from water and in Thailand they are experimenting on cleaning up the floride in ground water.
