Welcome to our new show: What UBI did @Danny Knowles @Luke Gromen Come on guys, have we lost all kinds of imagination that we are literally pushing Marxist ideas? Every major technological advancement in history was being seen as this great job killer that will bring unforseen unemployment not able to handle. Turns out it never panned out like the fear mongers of the times had fantasized about. Not even in the slightest. Now you're telling me tHiS tImE It'S DifFeReNt? AI and robotics will definitely "erase" most of today's jobs. But the general transformation of our reality will lead to jobs and breadwinning in ways and forms we aren't even able to imagine (such as the luddites were not able to imagine someone earning their money by doing a podcast or being a streamer). The future will become a lot more uncertain but UBI is a lousy answer to the coming ebbs and flows. It won't solve anything but make the individual even more dependent on the government and nation state. Personal responsibility is the only way forward. We can't perpetuate the theft that is going on since thousands of years. Now that we have bitcoin we must resist these easy answers at all cost.
