This is one of the first things I noticed too. His need to appeal to Davos plus whatever drives a man to wear 8 rings is enough to convince me to never trust Ledger as a company regardless of all other factors. I can’t even comprehend what would be going through the head of a man who wears 8 rings.
For about the price of a Coldcard and minimal accessories for it, you can get a barebones Nuc and 16GB of RAM and use it to practice setting up an air gapped signing computer. There are risk trade offs for every approach, but if you have tried a bunch of dedicated hardware devices and you haven’t tried using an air gapped PC running tails with no storage devices or networking, it’s probably worth spending a couple hundred dollars to play with some configs that are possible using that approach too.
“What if mirrors are not what we think they are?” What do these people think they are? Have any of them explained that? “How does the mirror know what’s behind here?”
This is going to be fascinating to watch. Still far too early to say, but if the daily total fees end up 5x higher than what they were before, ≈20 BTC/day to ≈100 BTC/day, that would be something. image
I smile when I see people who have never had their livelihood depend on their ability to support the use of complex software by real people in the real world make bold predictions about how their grand theoretical software visions will play out. That’s cute, now go build something and prove it.
Both the Miller Lite chick and the HK chick show their tits off at least as much as the old ads they criticize. You think that’s an accident? image
If you want to understand why half the country is on Adderall, it’s so the pharmaceutical companies can get rich giving losers an excuse for not doing all the things they know they should have done/should be doing. The DSM-5 is a jobs program for people who borrowed too much money for the wrong degrees and the pharmaceutical companies get their vig too. image
We have lost so much of the ancient context that the Bible emerged in. “All your base are belong to us” “Your gods are nothing but servants of God.” Solon got just a taste of what Moses would have grown up immersed in as an adopted noble in Egypt. If you assume The Flood coincided with major milestones in the Great Year and you look at new archeological evidence that is emerging from the same time ≈12K years ago, and you evaluate our cultural artifacts through that lens, what insights are waiting to be found? image
California went from a $97.5B surplus to a $32B deficit in a year. That’s impressive levels of incompetence even for commies.
I’ve been checking the Strike API docs about once a week since I saw #[0] mention they were going to add the ability to buy bitcoin to their API. Looks like they did that yesterday. It should now be possible to do extra custom BTC buys via API based on whatever criteria you can dream up. image
It’s important that you understand he bent the knee. An interesting take from someone who likes to think she has more power than she really does. image
It is imperative to the proper functioning of society that theater kids get the shit kicked out of them any time they get ideas about seizing power over any system. At any age.
Yesterday, as we worked through the mempool backlog, PNGs represented less than 5% of the total inscriptions included in blocks. But they paid the majority of the fees paid by inscription transactions and they represented the majority of the space used by inscriptions.
They spent more than 85 bitcoin to write json to the timechain today. More than 3.5 bitcoin/hour. ≈40 megabytes of 💩 62.4K sats per json blob @ an avg fee rate of 363.52 sats/vB. Average size of 343 bytes and 174 vB.
I’m not forgiving or excusing the scam, but anyone ordering a Wagyu steak sandwich from a concession counter is buying the $PEPE of sandwiches and they bear a lot of responsibility for whatever happens after that. 🤣 Note: I’m assuming he did it for the story and I don’t even begrudge him that, it’s an amusing story. 🤷‍♂️ image
If California pays $1.2M in reparations payments per person, I wonder if they’ll make those payments tax exempt for state tax purposes. The Feds definitely won’t. Almost $500K/person going to federal taxes. That would be an interesting use of state tax money. Note: I don’t expect it to actually happen, but it’s interesting to think through the tax implications if it did. Would the state withhold federal taxes or leave it up to the taxpayers to handle paying their federal taxes properly? Those new IRS could end up being pretty busy. 🤣
People getting electrocuted or run over by a train because they jumped on the subway tracks sounds like a solution rather than a problem. 🤷‍♂️
Pausing in the middle of your hours long tirade about how much money 4x higher fees are costing you every year, as a North American businessman, to brag about how little you paid your local farmer in a much poorer LatAm country is a choice. It’s not a good choice, but it is certainly a choice. 9,300 sats. I’ve sent bigger zaps for mediocre dick jokes for fuck’s sake. image
