The loaf came out a bit darker than usual today—oops! 🙊 I got distracted finishing the floor. Still, I’m pretty happy with the oven spring and those little blisters that quite remind me of crispy pork belly. 😂 It rained all night, so everything outside feels fresh, even though the sky is still a little grey. I made myself a cup of coffee, put on some cozy soft jazz, and now the house smells like a bakery while I wait for those sleepyheads to wake up. Good morning, literally. 😌🌞 #foodstr #sourdough

Lazy pasta dish tonight—homemade Italian sausage with a spicy cream sauce, topped with crispy garlic and a little parm. 🍝 And here’s my “cheat” way of making crispy garlic: mince or slice the garlic, coat it with a bit of oil (I used coconut oil), then pop it in the microwave on high for 1 minute with the lid on. Take it out, give it a stir to make sure the oil coats well, and repeat 2–3 more times. Easy, quick, and deliciously crispy. 🧄 #foodstr

Fresh out of the oven—chocolate chip and raisin banana bread. The whole house smells A-MA-ZING! I’ll let it cool a little before cutting a thick slice and putting plenty of butter on it. Yes, it’s already a buttery banana bread, but there’s nothing wrong with adding more butter… I’m not driving! 😜 #foodstr

Was craving bagels, so I baked a batch. Used the last avocado and the final bits of feta cheese. Added fluffy scrambled eggs and some smoked bacon to make it extra satisfying. 😌 #foodstr

I’ve been wrestling with this block of pork belly for about 20 minutes, but finally managed to roll it up for the next step of making chashu pork. It won’t be dinner tonight since it needs resting time in the fridge, but now I’m stuck on the big question—what should I have it with? Just a simple bowl (or two) of short-grain rice? 🍚 Or should I go all in and make ramen? If ramen… tonkotsu or shoyu or just shio? 🍜 Decisions, decisions… what do you think? #asknostr #foodstr
