A new tool named Device Activity Tracker exposes a privacy flaw in WhatsApp and Signal that lets attackers covertly monitor user activity.

#ArcaneChat don't have delivery receipts, only read receipts, the only automatic responses the app does in your behalf is to handle invite links, for that to be abused you first have to share your invite link with a malicious contact, you can get in contact with random/public entity via their invite link and be safe, as long as it is not you the one sharing your invite link! In Signal / WhatsApp as soon as you contact someone or they guess your number you are vulnerable To start with in ArcaneChat (and other #chatmail clients like DeltaChat) you don't need a phone number (or any private data at all!) to register, attackers can't simply guess your ID and do an exploit like the one mentioned in that article, keep your family safe! move everyone to ArcaneChat/DeltaChat 💜

You will be able to receive messages from different addresses in a single profile 📬 2. If one of the servers goes down, you will keep receiving/sending messages from the other addresses increasing resilience 💪 3. You can seamlessly migrate from one relay/address to another without any disturbance for your contacts, they keep chatting with you in the same chat as usual 🤝 4. ArcaneChat will work pretty similar to #Nostr where every server is a dumb relay just passing around encrypted blobs and you can add/replace them, peak resilience and censorship resistance!
