I own two domains for the project. Currently the project operates under the name [Gyges] (mythological ring of invisibility) (Gyges.me) but the more I build it out as a nostr client the more I'm inclined to use the other name. [Monstr] (Monero, Notes and Stuff Transmitted by Relays) (Monstr.land).
If you were logging into a monero nostr client which name sounds better? No I don't want your ideas for alternatives, you people suck at naming things. You have a choice of two already solid options. Gyges or Monstr?

Me after spending an hour explaining to my dad what I've been developing with Gyges for the past few weeks in my room and all the possibilities it can open up for a freer internet and he responds "and you can make money and a career from this?"

I have errands and work to do today but the plan is to spend a few hours working on [Gyges]. To the person who sent me 0.009 monero yesterday thank you so much! The first official project contribution 🥳
Good Morning, Maria! is live on https://kick.com/bosefelis
@nosmero tried donating to myself through the desktop, my wallet couldn't detect the QR invoice. What are you using to generate qr?
clip from my stream today where I tested a subscription in a local instance of [Gyges]. Work in progress but hopefully once people get past my autism they'll see what I've been working on.

I still want to build [Gyges] as a monero patreon/superchat system but I can't help but see a space for a monero community centered nostr client that has the NIP-XMR functionality I've been developing. Its going to divide my time a lot and I've tried reaching out to people have said they're working on things but I see no working instances or received any responses.
I know what I'd like in a nostr client. Minimalist, text-based, monero tipping, follow feed and RSS feed.
What do you think is missing in the client you use? What do you think is unnecessary in the client you use?
#monero
NIP-XMR currently stores primary address and view key as a secret kind. When you log into Gyges or NIP-XMR enabled clients you authorize the transfer of the address and view key. When someone wants to tip or subscribe to you on Gyges the supporter gets an invoice generated from monero-ts & your NIP-XMR details. It uses public nodes by default but I'm thinking (if I can) of attaching node preference to the other secret info of the NIP so you can use your own. Basically it let's you walk around nostr with a view only wallet. Obviously don't use your main wallet, think xmrchat etiquette. Gyges uses the details to track paying subscribers, tip messages, monthly and all time totals. Yes this "undoes" some monero secrecy but that comes with the territory, if you want to send payments completely secretly you're free to do that with any normal address and monero wallet. I will eventually add to Gyges OBS browser overlays because as a streamer I think that'll be fun.
any monero people out there
