Knots is encouraging users to run nodes, and that makes it a net good. More users leveling up and gaining the skills to help strengthen the network is good. And Knots detractors shouldn't be so emotionally invested, if they really think Knots cannot accomplish it's intended purpose of slowing the propagation of spam.

Sometimes a family member calls me seemingly just to dump on me all the ways in which their life is terrible. Usually I get completely spun up and panicky and try to come up with solutions. These calls last an hour, usually. It ruins my day. This morning, right as I was waking up, they called. I remained calm. Listened. Stayed in the moment. Said what they are dealing with is terrible. Asked if there was anything I could do to help. No. Hope it gets better. Love you. Click. Ennnngggg. Normally two people are miserable after these phone calls. Today, just one.

Bro's I'm telling you, it doesnt matter what you do for people or how long you do it for. It doesn't matter if you do it for free. It doesn't matter if you're as open about who you are and what you're about. It doesn't matter that they can talk to any number of people that you've helped to see what you're about. And it doesn't matter that they can't find a single person that you screwed. There will always be impatient children lining up to tell you that they have your number and that you aren't pure or nice or empathetic or doing enough to further the bitcoin utopia in their head. My second favorite part about Viktor Frankl's "Man's Search For Meaning" is where he sums up the Nazi collaborator Jews in the camps within the first 6 pages of the book thusly: "The best of us did not return [from the camps]" My favorite part is where, later in the book he describes how he helped the Nazi's medically experiment on Jews, and you realize he was talking about himself in the first 6 pages.
