It is best to have bitcoin knots running as a service not running as the standalone app. In Linux, it is called ‘bitcoind’ and it runs via the systemctl software. This way it is always on and you can connect your bitcoin wallets to it. 2. It is best to have ‘electrs’ service sit in front of the ‘bitcoind’ service. This allows more privacy. 3. Hardware wise: it is best not to run it on a raspberry pi. I would get a small computer with at least 32GB of ram and for the Bitcoin Blockchain it needs to be at least 4tb of NVME space.
