i sometimes panic when I think I can't acquire more #monero. Why? missing out on potential value gain? I don't know, and that's not really the reason. Panic because of a potential supply crunch getting more crunchier, and that I could no longer get a useful private crypto like #xmr to utilize. I can't say that for a lot of crypto.

Another day, another grind. Be good to each other πŸ™ Be forgiving and don't let externals (people, events, experience) change who you are. Like the #stoics recommend, embrace what you control, like your response to things, and nevermind what you don't control.

Is it normal to be addicted to social media? I'm starting to worry.. πŸ˜…

What I love about #minimalism is it is a good expression of individual sovereignty. I become in control of my interactions and I am not beholden to things or an obsessive outlook to accumulate material belongings.

On Amethyst I had notification filter set to just follow list, hence not noticing messages from people who I don't follow. My apologies if I missed any one who made a good point to one of my notes in the pastπŸ™

I was never into social media because I didn't think it was a good idea to be so open about our lives. Turns out tech oligarchs developed from everyone just giving their identities away. Who knew. I'm using it now because why not, but I can see how and why it can get addicting. At least on nostr I won't be psy-op'd compared to some centralized private platform. And who knows, maybe if I contribute some good stuff here the data scraper that inevitably comes will provide the AI some good words to train on πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

We've reaching a situation where accounts hiding behind a pseudonym or cat profile pictures is a sign of life, where those attempting to look human with totally believable human profile pictures are really bots. #showerthought

I intend on using #nostr for the long term, and I think it's great how decentralized it is to sending out notes. My only concern is what happens with old relays out of my control that decide to go. What happens then? I presumably lose my notes. Perhaps I should setup my own #nostr relay and write to that so I will always have some kind of copy/backup on my side - is this correct thinking? Since I'm not too experienced with #nostr yet, I'd like to know more about this facet. Can you run your own private #nostr relay where I only have write permissions but others can read from it? I assume there would be a problem with replying from others in that case. Can we run a relay strictly over TOR, as well? I think I've seen some .onion only relay addresses. Any help or recommended readings/resources for learning would be great. #self-hosting

Everyday our rights to being anonymous and private is being eroded. The technological mesh that is chipping away at anonymity gives more power to that mesh, furthering its encroachment on our very individual beings. This is being driven by centralization of power and the surveillance industrial complex. state power and surveillance capitalism fuse into one power and will not stop this expansion.

#Anonymity allows for a transformation of identity into creative and curious ways. It allows for full expression. It allows for committing mistakes in public. It also allows for people to learn from these mistakes. Anonymity in an era of bright #surveillance and #AI hype will keep the creative energy of humanity alive. There may be bad actors out there who would take advantage of anonymity or #privacy, but that would apply to every single else these bad actors would be using too. Pursue the criminal, do not attack the human right. Attack the foundation that gives rise to criminal behavior in the first place. Resist all attacks that pillage at the foundation of private spaces and individuality. Individuality in an age of mass surveillance and commercialization is under attack. Anonymity is the only defense for individuals and groups. Private spaces will allow people to express their values without being psy-op'd. If power was diffused to all in society, perhaps we wouldn't need anonymity, and people can freely express themselves without fear of anything. The silver lining about this entire surveillance mesh is that surveillance creates it's opposite. It cannot erase anonymity. Anonymity will flourish under these conditions. #freedom
