Everyone is a #cypherpunk these days, even corporations!
To not be cypherpunk is to now be cypherpunk... Because line go up or something ๐
I should just be all philosophical, all the time.
More #stoicism thoughts:
We are not our jobs
We are not our possessions
We are not the people around us and we are not the experiences we face.
These no doubt influence who we are and what we do and what we believe in.
We are relational
And we are shaped by our experiences that are not in our control.
People will do things that upset us at varying degrees. You may wake up in a bad mood or have a bad day. You might not get that promotion or get the grades you want or get the right response you were expecting.
That's ok. Those are exterenals not in our control.
That's how it is and that's how it should be.
What is in our control is how we respond, how we learn, and very important, how we react and have control of our emotions and thoughts. Through time we gain experience and wisdom on how to react and think.
So if you ever have a bad experience, just reflect for a second and thank it for a wonderful opportunity to examine and be above the noise that bothers us.
Meditate on that noise. Embrace it.
There are many days where something occurs that can upset us: words, opinions, or actions from others, like colleagues, friends or family or complete strangers that can be upsetting, and often times rightly so to be upset at.
It can be intentional or unintentional.
As a #stoic it is necessary to remember that there's no way to control these externals and that it is ok to experience things that upset us.
The real task is knowing when and how to respond. that's something maybe we can call 'wise living'.

#Monero is so hot
Thanks to anyone who has tipped me in #monero #xmr
I'd like to say thanks directly but because it's private I have no idea who!
I'm tired nostr... But I'm also happy to be on nostr but too tired to engage.
What do I do..
With the constant barrage of ads and other similar messages that try to get our attention and manipulate us, silence, empty and 'being still' is soothing. Less is more.
I need to up my #minimalism practice
I really like nostr. It lets me put long form text notes compared to something like X where I have to subscribe! So much for free speech
Unfortunately not a lot of people here - and I'm not one to want to double post across platforms so I don't plan on it.
Want to read my words? Gotta use nostr - but I do recognize the importance of being able to be heard on large centralized platforms.
I'm obviously sticking with nostr. It's a little window to how the internet can and should be and no one should be on a centralized and private platform.
Remember folks, if you call someone and they put you on speaker - do not feel shy to ask if they have a smart home device in their location.
Demand to be put on headphones!
Who knows, you may even get them questioning their decision to bring such awful devices into their homes in the first place.
We are living in the construction of a massive-wide #AI fueled #surveillance system where we will become panopticon subjects that will 'behave' in a certain way.
This forced behavior will define who we are because of the cascading effect of the self-regulation of panopticon subjects.
I am also certain that these systems are fickle and not immune to being 'gamed'.
Lots of promises of good behavior, safe spaces, and just mindless acceptance of rule.
But there is no creation of safe spaces by surveillance.
The products will be pushed, the profits will be made, and the promises will be demonstrated.
Is this some kind of totalitarianism that is totally controlling of humans? Surprisingly, probably not.
Profits and financial speculation are sustained by shortsightedness and pillaging of the public and common good.
It's all fickle and all-assuming and there will always be opposition to this.
The threat of automated panopticonism is real, and great powers will attempt to shape the world in its own image.
But humans are creative, and we 'hack' through life and always manipulate our environments through our existence.
Humans will always find a way to circumvent this system. The hackers ethic - we all have it in us to understand and manipulate something to our own desires.
Nothing is complete, and nothing is ever 100% secure and accurate.
There will always be noise.
Embrace this noise; it creates the paths outside of this panopticon.
