Uptober.

Just spent the weekend hiking/camping Enchantment Lakes in Washington with some buddies to celebrate the group turning 40 this year or next. We talked a bit about life and what 40 means to us and here’s my biggest takeaway: It’s easy to define men by their career, achievements or net worth prior to 40 but after 40 it increasingly becomes about what kind of man you are. Two of the six guys that went on this trip are still single (not their choosing) and it’s so clear how God uses marriage and kids to help men become men. It’s primal. As I stand in line to board my flight, I’ve never been more excited to see my wife and kids.

If we really wanted to curb political violence, we would start publicly executing some of these murderers. Not ideal, but potentially necessary.

Men shouldn’t own corgies.

Just landed in Seattle. Gonna try and avoid getting they/themed.

A non-binary “they” just dropped a bag on me and then accepted my offer to help get her bag in the overhead. I guess there is a place in the world for cis gender white guys…

I wouldn’t have it any other way but working from home you do seem to pick up the stress of both work and home life simultaneously. Not always ideal. I realize I’m citing the downsides of a luxury that many don’t have but still. Tales from the other side.

You know it’s getting a little spicy domestically when your tradfi rich friends are asking you about self custody procedures and talking about El Salvador. To their point though, something is coming you can feel it.

When you start getting grays in the beard you go from outdoorsy fun dad to “how nice of that young family to take in that homeless person” real quick. On the flip side, the grays unlock unlimited power and wisdom.

Birth order determines more than I’ve given credit for. It took me 4 kids to realize this. Everyone should claim their birth order on their socials as an intro. I was the youngest of 4, with three older sisters. Feel free to make your conclusions of what that means. They’re probably all, mostly true.

So apparently all of those movies programming the population to the threats of domestic terrorism from the right was once again just political projection from the Left. The party of chaos and violence.

I keep getting sent Charlie Kirk videos. They all hit me. He was a more courageous version of most of us. He has two small kids. And he was assassinated for the beliefs that used to be commonplace in this country. It feels like a switch has been flipped. If this union is to survive, the next 3 years will determine it.
