Caught up with an old high school buddy while I am in Chicago for a couple of days. He’s a successful sales leader in an average industry with a couple young kids. Very much a normie in many different ways even though he bought and held some bitcoin back in the day at my recommendation. What caught me by surprise was how financially oriented most of his interest was…he’s thinking about buying some businesses, another rental house, etc… I think we’re at peak financialization of everything.

My favorite posts on social media are the ones talking about how they are disconnecting from the busyness of the world and begin essentially live streaming their renewed ability to be present…all the while not being able to pick up on the irony of any of it.

Here are my notes from three weeks of no sugar, no dairy, no grains, no alcohol: - the mental clarity is tangible - I’ve lost 17lbs - no more blood sugar spikes - when my little kids aren’t waking me the quality of sleep is blissful It’s pretty crazy how inhumane the American diet is.

I haven’t had alcohol, sugar, grains or dairy for 3 weeks. Is this what sainthood feels like?

I’d like to see the data on how many violent criminals were in day care growing up. The kids aren’t alright. Outsourcing our role as parents was always gonna have repercussions even if it’s convenient for an industrial debt based society to try and hide that truth and the subsequent data.
