The idiot in every commercial and movie is a middle aged white man. This has always been obvious to be but having boys has made it even more explicit. The psychological impacts of this campaign over the past 20+ year are incalculable.

Or…was it Israel. Fascinating how quickly the Overton window has shifted on Israel. Apparently you can’t have false flags be your main weapon of narrative control without it catching up to you at some point. image

I live in a small, rural enough community that every time I visit one of these cities on my travels I’m struck by how the world is not well. Scores of adults at the airport bar at 7am, grown men dedicating their lives to sports teams, college students in pajamas. Men, cosplaying as women. Also the sickness. So many people clearly not healthy. It would be easy to chalk this up to broken money and I don’t disagree that plays a role but in my opinion it’s the hopelessness that is the common thread between each of these examples. I was similarly lost and hopeless before I realized my sin and need for a savior. If that is you, find a bible and start reading Mark. God loves you and has a plan for you.

Caught up with an old high school buddy while I am in Chicago for a couple of days. He’s a successful sales leader in an average industry with a couple young kids. Very much a normie in many different ways even though he bought and held some bitcoin back in the day at my recommendation. What caught me by surprise was how financially oriented most of his interest was…he’s thinking about buying some businesses, another rental house, etc… I think we’re at peak financialization of everything.

Here are my notes from three weeks of no sugar, no dairy, no grains, no alcohol: - the mental clarity is tangible - I’ve lost 17lbs - no more blood sugar spikes - when my little kids aren’t waking me the quality of sleep is blissful It’s pretty crazy how inhumane the American diet is.

Just spent the weekend hiking/camping Enchantment Lakes in Washington with some buddies to celebrate the group turning 40 this year or next. We talked a bit about life and what 40 means to us and here’s my biggest takeaway: It’s easy to define men by their career, achievements or net worth prior to 40 but after 40 it increasingly becomes about what kind of man you are. Two of the six guys that went on this trip are still single (not their choosing) and it’s so clear how God uses marriage and kids to help men become men. It’s primal. As I stand in line to board my flight, I’ve never been more excited to see my wife and kids. image

I’m coming to a realization that all sports teams I support suck. Bears, US Men’s Soccer team, Manchester United. I really need to break up with each of them.

Boy caught his first fish on Saturday. Then proceeded to catch 3 more on 4 casts. He’s obviously ready for the tour. image

@ODELL I’m gift shopping for my wife’s 40th…at one point you put out a note about a place where you buy gold jewelry. What was the name of that?

I’m kind of fascinated by the number of Christians on Nostr. It’s an anomaly and one can draw some fun conclusions to ascertain the why.

Just walked into a US Post Office for the first time in a while. They feel post apocalyptic, not because they’re run down or damaged but rather because the design aesthetic of the 80’s remains undamaged. They are in effect a time capsule, pointing at the stagnation on progress associated with government.

Fountain App is not great. Can we admit that? I’ve really tried but restarting an episode 4 times each time is not ideal.

Starting a Sunday morning off with a tea and a hard copy of newspaper (Epoch Times) is my favorite.

Walked into the coop this morning to find a Guinea writhing on the ground with a broken neck. Had to finish him off. I’m a softie and did not enjoy that.
