Winter

It is a good da to buy bitcoin. Today approximately 75% of my salary went in to Bitcoin.
Happy day 🎉🥳
This isn't a complaint against those who don't use Bitcoin, but rather those who only hoard it instead of stocks, gold, or real estate. Nevertheless, if the rest of us don't start using Bitcoin for daily purchases, it may eventually lose its value. We can use Bitcoin as daily currency via Lightning, Liquid, on-chain (for larger transactions), gift cards like Bitrefill, or credit cards such as Xapo Card, Bringin, Bitrefill, and more. Volatility is not an issue if you frequently convert fiat to Bitcoin and hold it for the long term. It even presents lending opportunities when Bitcoin has a deep dip. A great alternative to credit cards.
As you see, my Xapo Mastercard is well used

Use Bitcoin as money.
Convert from fiat, save some, and spend the rest directly with a Bitcoin-linked debit card, Bitrefill, gift cards or similar.
Don’t let the rich convince you Bitcoin is an “asset”.
It is money – fair money.
This is not financial advice, it is an ethical advice. 😊
When you stack BTC hard, you also need to send some back to your fiat currency account or pay with a credit card. For Europeans, Bringin.xyz is a good solution.
Yesterday, I finally did something I've been thinking about for a long time. I deactivated my X account. I opened it many years ago to read news, but I ended up leaving because it's a platform that has a lot of fake news, so X is out. Now, I'm left with Nostr, where at least there are real people (I think), and traditional news channels that, despite everything, are easier to filter out what's fake and what's manipulated.
God has given us a paradise here on earth, but we humans are destroying it with our wickedness and selfishness. I am deeply despaired about the world as we have shaped it – with war, pollution, and foolishness. Can we ever break free from this self-destructive path, or is the Earth already exhausted from all we have done to it?
Reference: Psalm 104:14 (NIV) - "He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate—bringing forth food from the earth: wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart."
It is important to be less independent on fiat and pay more directly with bitcoin and then of course Lightning.
I pay tax on my bitcoin gains when I pay. But this is control. What is next?
What DAC8 Is
------------
DAC8 (Directive on Administrative Cooperation, 8th amendment) is the EU's framework for reporting crypto-asset transactions to tax authorities. It's based on the OECD's global Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF) and applies uniformly across all providers serving EU residents.
Bringin is built on regulated infrastructure. Our partner Striga (now part of Lightspark) holds the required MiCA license for crypto-asset services and customer protection. DAC8 is a separate framework that requires the collection and reporting tax data to authorities. MiCA happens behind the scenes; DAC8 is what requires action from you starting January 2026.
Here’s what this means for you as a Bringin user:
January 1, 2026 – Data collection begins. From this date, all regulated providers (including Bringin's infrastructure partners) must start tracking reportable transactions and collecting tax identification details from users.
May 2026 (in or around May 4): You’ll be prompted in-app to add your Tax Residence Country and TIN (one-time, quick update).
July 31, 2026 – Deadline to provide this information.
After July 31, 2026: We're required to pause bitcoin transactions for accounts missing tax information. Your euro services stay active. The services resume immediately once you provide your Tax Residence and TIN.
• Only bitcoin–euro conversions and your account info are reported. Transfers between your own wallets (onchain and Lightning) are not.
Note - You don’t have to file anything yourself. Our regulated partner (Striga) handles all reporting.
I've fallen down the rabbit hole twice in my life. The first time was 20 years ago when I was saved by Jesus. I spent the following couple of years solely on reading, listening, and understanding God.
The second time was Bitcoin, which I truly discovered in 2022. Jesus is the foundation I stand on, and Bitcoin is the only currency I care about.
Bitcoin is for the people, not for tradfi
Buy Bitcoin, save Bitcoin safe, learn to use Bitcoin (don’t sell , but use). Learn to have your own node, learn and have your own lightning node.
Remember why Bitcoin was created.

I would like to have a discussion with Lightning node operators.
I currently have three Lightning nodes myself:
1. **Loudplow** – A small Lightning Core node, essentially just to receive my mining rewards from Ocean. Just enough channels to ensure this payment goes through every day.
2. **Bitcoin SilverFox** – Up until now, a combined usage and routing node. Connected to Alby and works perfectly for private use. Routes okay, but nothing extraordinary. I’m thinking that in time, it will become an account primarily for my incoming and outgoing payments, a sort of personal bank. There will be routing on this one too, but it won't be the focus.
3. **AlphaFox** – A pure routing node. Brand new, and this is probably the one I'm most excited about. The goal is 1% ROI, but the first milestone is just to break even. So far, the channels on this one are around 5 million Sats and i have 7 channels open at the moment.
Instead of using Magma or similar to pay for inbound liquidity, I have emptied channels via Boltz and sent funds to my Liquid account to decide whether to forward to a cold wallet or return them to open new channels. I think this is a relatively good method to achieve a private transfer between my accounts.
My question to you is: How do you do this? Are you making a profit?
I have used autofee and autorebalance, but I find it difficult to get it working well. Maybe it is better to have fewer channels and do it manually?

My Lightning node, BitcoinSilverFox, is running smoothly. However, to mitigate risk and make node running even more fun, I spun up a fresh node today called "AlphaFox". 🦊
The plan is to make this my main routing node over time. Feel free to connect! ⚡️

Just pulled a mini-Michael Saylor move with my one-man company:
• Collateralized my BTC
• Borrowed USD
• Bought a new miner
• And oops… "accidentally" stacked even more sats with the leftovers into the company treasury wallet
Now officially running a one-man Bitcoin Treasury Company ₿
There are no brakes on this train. 🚂

Peter Schiff predicts Bitcoin will fall to $10,000.
If that happens, I would agree that Bitcoin is dead. Why?
Bitcoin is a network of people. Over time, more and more people understand the concept and choose to participate. At the same time, many people invest in Bitcoin purely to get more fiat. They drop out during bear markets and often lose fiat as well. But those who truly understand it keep going — they continue to save in Bitcoin and invest time in understanding it even better.
That is why the power law, and especially the bottom price, works so well. It is simply the result of how many people are dedicated to the network and understand what this is really about.
Today, the bottom price is $50,215. Historically, Bitcoin has never traded below this power‑law bottom. Will the price go down to that level? Unlikely — but never below it. There are simply too many dedicated Bitcoiners for that.

Christmas dinner conversation:
Relative: You can’t keep all your money in Bitcoin. It’s way too volatile.
Me: It’s not volatile at all. If I own 1 Bitcoin, I own 1⁄21 million of all the Bitcoin that will ever exist. That doesn’t change.
Relative: But the price has dropped a lot lately. You must be paying much more for things now.
Me: True—I pay about 30% more compared to the peak. But I also earned about 30% more Bitcoin from my December salary than I did in September.
Perspective matters. Bitcoin is volatile in fiat terms—not in supply.
Why do I have all my money in Bitcoin? It would be far easier to keep it in my local currency and invest in funds instead.
I choose Bitcoin because I no longer want to participate in the fiat system, where a few enrich themselves at the expense of the many.
That is why I don’t just hold Bitcoin, but also run a node, mine Bitcoin with my “space heaters,” and operate a Lightning node for transactions and routing for others.
I do this to contribute to a decentralized system that no one owns.
