I'm holding a very special, homegrown yarn. I bought it from a lady who raises her own sheep and angora goats. This blend of yarn is Rambouillet sheep wool and mohair. The wool provides the softness, comfort and warmth whereas the mohair provides the strength. Modern sock yarn uses nylon to provide strength but mohair is the original, natural option. I have enough to make 3 pairs of socks. They're different shades of natural, depending on the color of the coat of the sheep. New yarn!!! this is a test swatch to be a general idea of the character of the yarn. The yarn is 100% super soft merino wool spun in Italy. It feels like it'd be warm and cozy. these socks are heading to the post office tomorrow! The stripe socks are made with ribbing which gives a nice conforming fit. The crazy socks turned out really awesome. The orange heels and toes really make it extra saucy.
