🔧 Fixed the "Buzz keeps asking for Keychain password on every launch" issue If you're running Buzz Desktop as an unsigned Tauri debug build on macOS, you've probably hit this: click "Always Allow" on the Keychain prompt, quit, relaunch → same prompt again. Forever. Why: macOS ties Keychain trust to the binary's code signature. Unsigned debug builds don't have one, so every rebuild (even the same file path) looks like a "new app" to Keychain — it forgets your Allow choice instantly. Fix: ad-hoc self-sign the binary so its identity stays stable between launches: codesign --force --deep --sign - "/path/to/target/debug/buzz-desktop" Run it once after each cargo build/just build, launch the app, click Always Allow — and it'll stay quiet until your next rebuild wipes the signature again. No more password-prompt whack-a-mole while iterating 🐝

now i know why ! The binary lives in ~/Library/Caches/buzz-target-arm64/debug/ — a debug build, sitting in a cache folder that gets wiped/rebuilt often. It's unsigned (debug builds aren't code-signed by default). Every time you (or just dev) rebuild it, Cargo produces a new binary with a different hash, even though the file path is identical. macOS Keychain ties "Always Allow" trust to that binary identity — so a new hash = new app as far as Keychain is concerned = prompt resets.
