Hey, a social media that benefits the users sounds great, I said to myself. I hopped on and learned a lot about the smart things going into this platform. And as the year winds down I’m seeing posts about importance of Nostr. So, sure, I concur. But I’m not seeing posts about how to increase adoption. Maybe people want it to stay niche. But if not, here are some ideas. You may not like these or you may not agree, and that’s fine, but I do not see much discussion about why adoption has not gone up like you want it to, so I hope this helps. Better name than the first 5 letters of nostril Better design Better UI Better UX Better sign up Better sign in Less time making new users figure stuff out And don't make users select between a list of seemingly random relays with weird names

On a YouTube ad just a few minutes ago, I saw Michael Saylor say he is raffling off 5,000 BTC and 1,000,000 ETH. Just send BTC to the address at this QR code! I was doing some other stuff at the time, so I only realized it was almost certainly a scam after I stopped seeing the very realistic video intro but continued to hear the audio. Very realistic. I can't imagine how it's not a scam. But then again, I can't imagine how it could be so easy to run scams through Google ads. A massive indictment of shame on Google, is my current conclusion.

Iris Energy shares are up today. If I want to see chatter about that here, what works? #IREN $IREN Or just searching for “IREN” or “Iris Energy”? In any case, seems worry over shares being diluted has been replaced with confidence they will not. (Share dilution. It’s like inflation but often worse and highly capricious and it sure seems like theft in the way Jeff Booth uses that word.)

Is there a tool that helps one improve their relay settings in Nostr? It’s up to date on relays, it looks at your relays, it asks you a few preferences and it suggests changes and/or makes changes. Something easy peasy. I’d use it. And new people will want to not have to know about relays and use a super simple tool instead.

SAG-AFTRA Deal Reached: Studios, Union Agree on Contract Terms

SAG-AFTRA has reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract with studios, a move that could herald the end of the 2023 actors strike.

Re self-custody: I feel less likely to lose coins stored on River or Swan or such, than on Ledger or Trezor or such. For a lot of people I know, this feeling is the truthier truth.

Difficult days. I don't feel like posting for #zapathon. (Well, I just did, but normally I'd post a song or a rhyme or a pun or such. And I'd do it on time, instead of 55 minutes late.)

A coworker's friend offered to buy a car in BTC, but the dealer wouldn't accept it. Predict the year by which a majority of car dealerships will accept bitcoin. My guess is that despite increased adoption, it won't be a majority of dealerships until the bull run after the next bull run.
