Fastest #OpenSource sovereign #DevOps individual on Nostr ๐จ
Hey @therationalroot I'd be curious to see how the start of the war in Ukraine and today's,s attack on Iran like up on the spiral chart.
Feels like they each took place at roughly the same time in the four year cycle.
Back on Nostr after a two month hiatus
What's your favorite #OpenSource tool to measure latency between two #linux endpoints?
Ping doesn't count...
Recently installed @GrapheneOS after using Calyx for years, impressed so far...
So how do we replace Signal with a Nostr alternative that doesn't rely on AWS?
I'm building a home in a rural location that's never had power. The area is served by a single power company that has monopoly on providing power to the region.
And they act like it. After nearly two years, they haven't brought power to my location.
Thinking I could end-arpund them, I bumped up the priority on the solar installation, to go #OffGrid.
It turns out the power provider has to approve all solar installations in the region. The solar installers we contacted won't do anything without the power company's approval. I'm also hearing that an active power connection is required to receive their approval.
Beyond absurd.
I'm writing here to vent and also see if anyone has any recommendations for self-installable #solar kits. We have the power requirements spec'd out.
I left my #BitAxe completely unattended for 5+ months.
It was running just fine when I finally got around to checking-in on and updating it today.
Rock. Solid.
#QubesOS runs better on my years old IBM T480 than my less than year old @Star Labs Systems #Starbook
Quieter, more predictable power management and runs cooler at 25% of the price
Waiting for a five hour #QubesOS backup to finish...
This is my least favorite part about using #Qubes
I'm running a service behind #Nginx on a #Linux server connected to bother the public Internet and a #Tailscale tailnet.
What's the simplest way to restrict access to that service so that only clients also on the same tailnet can access the service?
