Your comfort is your enslavement.
All y'all influencers crying about Trump launching his own token are showing your hand... Did you really think he was coming to this space as a purist? #bitcoin #Trump
Don't encourage friends and family to study #bitcoin. Encourage them to use it. Don't be like the boomers who use banks. Get paid on #strike and pay your bills from there. The exotic nature of alternative currencies is scary to #normies. Instead, your explanation needs to be as mundane and pragmatic as possible. "I dunno, I get paid on strike and my life just gets cheaper over time... *shrug*"
The cells in your body are constantly replacing themselves, with the oldest ones only living to about 7 years. What this means is that every ~7 years, the matter that constitutes your body is completely new and not what made up "you" before. If you're just matter that's evolved into a complex organism over billions of years, then how are we still "us" as adults? What makes you "you" from this perspective? It stands to reason that once your cells have replaced themselves completely, your identity is lost, and your body is merely a copy of what it once was... By removing God from the equation, from a purely biological point of view, life and existence and essence cease to make sense. What constitutes "you" is far more than the cells your body is comprised of. Additionally, if we are just clumps of cells accidentally hitting the biological jackpot, from where do we derive morality? We, even as creatures with a sense of morality, don't look at cells and try to discern which one is behaving immorally. We don't say to the lightning when it strikes a tree, "How dare you murder that!" Why then do we as humans have an innate sense of morality that governs our own behaviors? And how do we know whose moral code is the correct one? Moral code can only logically exist if there is an external Issuer of that code because ANY code that comes from a follower - or group - of that code would be subject to the whims and desires of their subjective and selfish ambitions, and therefore would not be a universal claim on morality. #ChristIsKing #Christianity #logic
There are two ways to get respect: Demand it Command it If you don't know the difference, your wife's boyfriend may be able to explain it to you.
In my top 5 favorite things about being #allin on #bitcoin is that my bank's logo has a middle finger tilted 21° off kilter. #strike
Hey @Geyser, it's super not cool that the only thing I can browse on your site without a login is the default landing page. Also, shouldn't Nostr be an option under your "Log in using a social account" option? 🤔
So are we saying ₿100 or 100₿? Also, when Satoshi symbol? #asknostr #bitcoin
Legitimate question, not FUD: If #strike gets debanked (again), what happens to all of us using strike as our pseudo bank account, receiving paychecks to and paying bills from our accounts? At the end of the day, obviously NYKNYC still applies, so I'm mitigating risk by only keeping a month or two of expenses in there. However, it would nevertheless suck to lose those funds. Thoughts, @jack mallers?
I'm calling it: Greenland becomes a US territory (at minimum) The US begins mining #Bitcoin there using geothermal energy
Tell your degen boomer relatives if they could wait til Thursday/Fridays to lettuce-hands to me <insert "That'd be great" meme>
Hey @jack mallers, why do you incentivize a DCA zero fees but penalize those who deposit their entire paycheck with fees? #bitcoin #strike
By running a #Bitaxe at home overclocked to 800 GH/s, you have a ~5% chance of successfully mining a block in a given year. To put that into perspective, if you spent that same $200 on Powerball tickets, you'd have a ~0.000137% chance of winning. What would you do with all that #bitcoin?
"Can the U.S. ban bitcoin?" Any government attempting to "ban" #bitcoin has the insurmountable task of the following: Go door to door to round up all mining equipment Also go to every other country on earth, searching every home, business, shed, etc. to confiscate mining equipment Prevent - in perpetuity - the development, manufacture, and distribution of both miners and the components that are required to produce them While doing all this, they will need to actively monitor every packet of internet traffic to ensure there's nothing running bitcoin code, or communication to conspire to manufacture, distribute, or stand up any mining/node operations There will inevitably be the above, so said government would then have to pursue, locate, and put down those attempts, in every country worldwide Did I miss anything? If you can't beat us, join us. #bitcoinban #mining
The difference between working on my homestead and working for fiat is one is the end, and the other is the means to that end. #homestead #offgrid
I was talking with a relative who told me she "only had" 0.002 btc that she bought back in '22, having since 4x in purchasing power. This purchase was mostly - maybe entirely - an emotional buy based on peer pressure from her dad, brother, and I all having discussions about #bitcoin in her presence. She has no idea the technology behind her purchase, the fundamentals, or even the implications of what that could be one day. When she recently brought up her purchase in conversation, I tried explaining a little bit of first principles about what money even is, etc... I don't think I got through. Good news is: she doesn't have to get it. If she, or someone in her shoes, just buys and holds for long enough, the interest for the "what, why, and how" will organically occur. Like @ODELL says: Stay humble; stack sats.
The difference between those who think #bitcoin can hit $1MM this year and those who don't is whether or not they were around in 2017.
Thanks to @jack mallers and #Strike, there's not really a good reason for any bitcoiner to not be #allin. When you say "I'm never selling bro," all I hear is "I'm never going all in."
