I identified a reproducible bug in Open WebUI. Thinking for once I could help, I went to GitHub and tried to submit an issue. OMFG, what a huge mess. The form is so thorough... I gave up. I understand there must be reasons why there are so many fields and checkboxes. But the hurdle is way too high for me. It's not a big bug: When you disable a model from an external provider like ppq.ai and refresh the page, the model disappears. It's not marked as disabled. It's just not there on the list, and you can't fetch the list from the endpoint. You need to reset the database and restart the container. Hopefully, someone else will report it. And it will get fixed.

On my device where it was installed before the ban, Google now claims the extension contains malware. And I can't enable it... Too much power in those hands. It's not new, but still a good reminder to de-Google. And de-Spotify... I just used this platform because it provided fresh songs I liked on a weekly basis.

I was in the middle of writing a piece on how to safely dispose of a seed phrase when the Coldcard news broke. I don't even own a Coldcard, but it still rattled me. Because I could easily have been on that list of drained wallets. I had been trusting a single wallet provider as well, basically since I got into Bitcoin. *I now set up a multi-sig wallet after postponing for years.* 😎 It pushed me to dig into the alternative: generating a seed phrase manually from real physical randomness that you can watch and verify. There are solid resources out there, but I couldn't find one article that pulled together the reliable methods in one place. So I wrote one. It covers coin flips, dice, playing cards, and Penlock. If you've been meaning to create a new wallet with entropy you can actually verify, I hope this helps. Feedback welcome.

The first one was broken, because I wasn't looking at the correct version 9n my phone while debugging it 😅 The second one was a bug fix to get the base functions to work. But the refresh interval wasn't reliable. The third one is to actually get the refresh interval to work according to the user's preferences. But it still doesn't really work 😅 Anyway, I'm trying... It's good enough for my use.
