I would say 99/100 when I go out of my way to help someone they end up fucking me over, betraying me or being disloyal to me, but the one time it works it’s such a meaningful and productive compounding relationship that it makes the other 99 meaningless by comparison. You can’t let the 99 harden your heart or you won’t be open to the 1.

People who think humans come into the world as blank slates who can be nurtured to different outcomes are fucking retards. I saw this thing where a lesbian couple was talking about their son and he was asking where his dad was and they were like “he only asked this because of the heteronormativity of tv shows and we told him some families don’t have a dad” but like…the kid does have a dad and he knows it. Deep in his bones he knows his dad is out there somewhere and he’s like where the fuck is that guy? lol 😂 and his moms are gaslighting him into thinking he doesn’t exist, but there is a man whose genetics are 50% of that child’s body. He’s not a social construct. He exists somewhere. And kids have this eerie ability to just know that. It’s not TV teaching him that, it’s his own cells basically.
