Welcome to the first in what I hope to be a continuing series on BIPs. In an effort to better understand them myself, I will be reading and summarizing for others here Today, BIP 1: BIP Purpose and Guidelines. BIP 1 defines and describes what a BIP is and the process around their creation and subsequent lifecycle. While much of it is self-explanatory, especially for those familiar with formal RFC processes, some points I thought were interesting include the guideline for the “BIP Editor” role, held by @Luke Dashjr at the time, and the strict adherence to the BIP format. BTC, after bouncing off the day’s lows, has fallen around 9% since the first of the month. TSLA has fallen that same amount today, in a single day of trading. Tell me again bitcoin is too volatile.

Prediction: Trump wins the popular vote with a larger margin due to unexpected wins and closer races in states which traditionally have leaned democrat, but due to electoral college workings, loses the election. I hope I’m wrong, not because I want either candidate to win, but because that outcome would be terrible for Americans and their faith (what’s left of it) in the electoral process.

My zap funds have run dry, not a bad feeling. ⚡️
