The immigration process for the US is such bullshit. I filed my application for my fiance over a year ago and they still haven't processed it. What's really messed up is that even though I live in Mississippi the USCIS center that processes applications for my region is based in California, and of course they're flooded with applicants wanting to cross the southern border. Current wait time for my region is 16.5 months, if it were processed in Nebraska (which is actually closer) the wait time would have only been 4.5 months. On the USCIS website it specifically states that a death in the family qualifies for an emergency expedite request. Her mother died in 2020 during the covid epidemic, and her father recently died from cancer. I filed for the expedite request but was denied almost immediately. I read that the consulate (in our case Jakarta) was responsible for visa approval and I found the contact information for the fiance visa department and have been calling them and emailing them for days with no response. I'm beginning to wonder if anyone works there at all. Anyone out there in the #Nostr community have any suggestions?

Electricity can be very dangerous. This is why it's important to properly secure electrical circuits. In the picture below you can see service conductors coming into contact with the ridge of the house. Even though the service conductors are insulated, vibrations and movement due to wind and rain will eventually erode the insulation leaving the conductors bare. During heavy rain events the rainwater itself could become energized causing a potentially lethal shock to anyone in contact with the watershed. Exposed conductors also pose a risk for fire. The minimum distance required for a service conductor to pass over a house is 3ft. If your service conductors are less than 3ft from the surface of your roof, you should consult a qualified electrician for evaluation. #homeinspection #grownostr #Zap (pun intended)

I think its about time I stop simply creeping on Nostr and start adding value. In October 2022, my house caught fire and burnt to the ground. Fortunately I was able to get my family and pets out safely. I bought the house following the 2008 financial crisis. The house was sold as-is and the inspector failed report several deficiencies that I later found during renovations. Even though the deficiencies that I found were corrected, the house was very old with several additions so I'm sure I was unable to locate them all. The post-fire report indicated that the fire was likely due to an electrical issue originating from the utility room. Since then I have been studying with #InterNATCHI in pursuit of a home inspectors license so that one day perhaps I can save someone from the misfortune that we faced. No one should lose their entire life in one night. Starting today I will be sharing deficiencies that I find in my inspections with the Nostr community and explaining potential hazards associated with them. My hope is that just by sharing this information, maybe it can help you avoid catastrophe too. #grownostr #Zap

This is mostly because in April my father-in-law was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and I made an emergency trip back to Indonesia to be with my wife and her family during this difficult time. #grownostr #farmlife #mothercluckers It's not finished but it's functional. My chickens have a new home on wheels. Now I can maneuver them around the property more easily. With this, the portable electronet fence, and a solar fence charger I should be able to narrow their grazing range to a more manageable size. A traditional chicken tractor just wouldn't work with this property. I already have plans for rain catchment watering system and maybe even a black soldier fly harvester that I'll be adding over the coming year.

Today was the final day of the Coast Coliseum Crawfish Music Festival. If you're ever in Southern Mississippi around the 3rd week of April you should plan to come. There's live music, carnival rides, various alcohol vendors, and an annual crawfish cook-off where local chefs compete to see who brings the heat and takes home the trophy. #grownostr
