Water Farm land Rare earth metals Energy sources We’re entering the resource wars phase. The wars will not be global, yet. Regional conflicts until all of the regional resources have been exhausted. US has recognized this and is positioning accordingly. Thanks for coming to my armchair TED talk 🙇‍♂️

GM ☕️ Can someone explain to me why we still use Signal? An app with dark pattern UX that constantly asks you to turn on notifications…

I stopped reading general news about 10 years ago. Saw an immediate benefit - not feeling like crap. I still had my Twitter feed though and that was next on the chopping block. Today I still check Hacker News but disregard most of the non-interesting stuff. I think I’d be better off not reading it at all. But now nostr news makes its way to me, a lot of times not so positive. Fighting the news time suck seems to be an ongoing battle. Difficult to escape entirely, easy to get sucked into. Another thing I noticed that helped me stop feeling overwhelmed is I stopped trying to keep up with all the tech developments for a while. With AI it picked back up and now I have this battle to fight again. While it lasted it was great. Trying to keep up with things left less time for deep focus. But as everyone knows most satisfaction and success comes from focus. At some point you have to realize (as a young person) that no amount of new knowledge will advance you - and that you actually have to do the work. Of course that doesn’t mean ossify and refuse to learn and adapt, but just be more mindful on what kinds of things actually add value to your life or your career. In most cases it’s new skills, not new information. This implies doing the work to learn the skill. View quoted note →
