#halo for Android underway since Apple approvals take forever for some reason :(
Anyone try both Claude and codex to compare? #asknostr
It feels like OpenAI is always playing catchup games with Anthropic.
Everyone is shouting at Jiang for saying something stupid, but if you listened to this interview in FULL, you’d understand why he says the crap he says - mostly to gain attention. You don’t gain attention by making boring statements. He is riding on your outrage rent-free. And what do you know, now I’m talking about him.
Mission accomplished.
It’s funny to see what democrat professors pitch on various podcasts. Most of what I hear seems totally out of touch and clueless. Always accompanied by massively inflated ego. Honestly, hard to get through those episodes because of how clueless they are, but I still listen to get their perspective. Can’t tell if they are part of the propaganda arm or just useful idiots. I guess it doesn’t really matter.
If people want nostr to be fast and usable on slow phones and connections, ship client features that compress all data. Even with local db, nostr uses a lot of memory to render large images and cpu to play unoptimized images and all of this has a large impact on battery, or so Xcode tells me.
Centralized apps handle all of this for users and is why they are fast and energy efficient. We have to do this in a decentralized way by doing our part and disrespecting lazy clients.
#halo now disrespects pfp abusers. If your pfp is over 2mb we reject it.
If it’s already cached, that’s fine, you’re safe (until user clears cache).
So… if you want others to enjoy your pfp, keep it manageable.
Most people are unaffected by this because 2mb is suuuuuper generous for a pfp. Honestly, yours should not exceed 1mb … and even that is too large.
If you upload through Halo your pfp is auto optimized to be super small 🙌
