Three types of feedback I can provide:
Tell me what you think - will get an agreement nod, you might like what I say
Tell me what you really think - will cost us our relationship
Tell me what you really really think - will get me punched in the face

If you do any sort of game text to speech, I recommend trying inworld/tts-2!
It's much cheaper than eleven labs. Only drawback is it doesn't do sound effects or music - pure text to speech.
Sad to report that 6.1 sol is retarded
oh oh... looks like openai is moving towards credits only. it seems to be the next step. I don't know what this means.. but it doesn't feel good.

Is it just me, or is video content these days is all AI slop?
It feels like any video, or movie I watch, all of it feels like slop. It feels like it was made by idiots for idiots. Is our collective IQ dropping like a rock, or are people just cranking out AI slop and that's why it's so bad?
I almost can't bring myself to watch anything anymore.
If you are a state app user, please keep an eye out for an update to hotfix something I broke with the food logging feature. Sorry for the disruption ππ»ππ»ββοΈ

The whole dev day is just a charade to soften the landing of this terrible news π
Rumors are OpenAI is introducing a $500/mo plan. It sounds like this will be exact same maybe slightly higher user as current $200 plan. So not only are they cutting usage in half, they are also more than doubling the price of what you pay now.
This to me seems to be the end of cheap token days. βCheapβ
The fun is over.
Could be the beginning of open weight models completely taking over
OpenAI is cutting subscription tokens in half starting tomorrow. In other words, youβd need 2 subs for usage you get today on one.
This is a move towards phasing out subscriptions entirely.
Itβs wild how most design jobs are gone now. Within a year dropped off by probably 90%.
What few remain are now either lead product designer or design engineer who can handle all of the latest AI workflows and deliver business goals - which is basically a senior product / growth designer position. I donβt see any mid or entry level positions anymore. So you have to somehow get really good without any work experience π
Ie. Magical process of wishful thinking
The problem with vibing 3D games is how much it takes to make something look good. You can get it looking good for a very limited scene or scenes, but then you've exhausted all possible token resources and left with a nice demo. But it's not a game.. game's have progression, visual effects, feedback loops, stories, and so much more.
If I were just starting to make a game, I would definitely NOT go for a 3D version even though we have amazing tools for that now like threejs. It's just too resource intensive AND you're competing with AAA game titles visually. Once you go nice 3D, you're automatically judged against those professional game studio titles and it just never looks as good unless you do all the things I talked about above. It's not impossible, but just a lot more work and a lot more tokens - better have deep pockets for 5 subs or something. Not worth it for solo exploration imo.
Well, I've burned through 2 full resets of tokens in 1 week.. now I have to wait 30 hours. I guess it's time to go touch some real grass!
Skill / Drop balancing is so hard. I mean, even my supposedly smart agents can't figure it out. Props to game designers and devs who did it all without llms!
