I've been thinking a lot about this note today. Nostr is doing something very unique here. In any other platform, what the platform publishes is largely out of your hands. If for example in Twitch, the platform wants to publish a note when you join a live stream, then you don't get a say. And if you'd prefer to view anonymously, well then sorry too bad. In Nostr, if your client requests to publish a note, and you decline to sign it, then the platform can't publish it as the network wouldn't accept it. You can control the behaviour, regardless of what the client wants or defaults to. There's something a little profound in that. View quoted note →
