"Do not give in to evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it." —Motto of Ludwig von Mises
@jb55 I am taking a look at Notedeck, I have the dev environment setup, compiled and when I run ./target/release/notedeck (with or without queries) nothing launches and the process exits with status 0. This is on Debian 12 with Gnome 43, Wayland and virtualized with QEMU/KVM. Any ideas?
Anyone have much experience with Wacom Tablets (or similar stylus tablet) with Debian / Gnome or a similar distro? Any recommendations?
So apparently @Orange Pill App doesn't work with GrapheneOS w/o Google Play Services? The approximate location doesn't work, can it work without?
I've cleared out all custom purpose relays in #Amethyst relay settings and just have a general relays now. I run my own relay, I understand each section and the purpose, however it seems far too complicated and repetitive. What's the goal and how can the UX be improved?
Looking forward to webapps being less common and Nostr based desktop and mobile applications being more common.
A few thoughts on power: - Solar panels are mostly affordable, but the power is only available during the day and less during the winter. For some machines, appliances and uses, this is not a problem. Energy can be stored in many ways, including use of gravity, batteries are not a great option. - Batteries are still expensive and have very low specific energy. Often times it's the only practical option for power, mostly in small electronics. Putting them in vehicles as the source of power is ludicrous. - Petrol is the most efficient and practical fuel, except when internal combustion engines are too large or hot. - Internal combustion engines, however, are generally not very efficient, there is a lot if energy lost via heat, however the specific energy is so great that it's still the best option. - Electric engines can have a much smaller amount of energy lost as heat compared to internal combustion engines. - Nuclear has the greatest specific energy and is often under utilized, likely because of ill-perceived fear. - Hydropower is abundant in some geographic areas, however is often state (many times counties) operated, monopolized and corrupted. They can have bad economic policies, that include special higher rates for targeted industries, for example, bitcoin mining.
