Is there a zap only client? Just find someone by npub and zap any amount? This is particularly difficult on iOS because of the AppStore I think.

Was watching this #Nostriga talk on funding Nostr I think it’s ok that there aren’t a ton of VCs investing yet. It’s not the role of investors to donate money. It’s also not the role of protocols to be profitable. One of the great side effects of capitalism is that you get talented, smart people who get wealthy and can afford to donate when a technology is too young to be profitable. That means a lot of folks are contributing without being supported enough to do it full time. This isn’t ideal but it does force contractors to be ruthless with their time. Only working on what is critical in their estimation. From my understanding of history we are on the blessed timeline, and things seem to be happening in the right timing to build something truly great. Once we can build profitable businesses on top of the unique capabilities of Nostr THEN we will see investment rolling in. I have every faith Nostr will continue its rapid improvement and we will, in time, eat Big Tech’s lunch.

Anyone know if there’s a VPS provider in El Salvador? Seems like a jurisdiction that may be safer than Europe for hosting apps. I can’t find one with a data center actually located in El Salvador.
