Now that I am using Alby and set up a Lightning address with them... do I put this on my profile as my NIP-05, or as my LUD16? 🤔 #asknostr

One thing that I'm still feeling uncomfortable about when posting on Nostr is the permanence of the notes. Even with something small like a typo, it's weird knowing there's nothing that can be done about it unless somehow every single relay where your note was replicated to honored the delete/edit ( I think this is a technically correct statement, but let me know if not). Really, this just makes me curious about the psychological aspects of where this feeling stems from and the significance of it. I am still unsure of whether I actually miss the feature, or I am just feeling the effects of realigning my mental framework. Anyway, just some thoughts that I'm processing after being on here for a few days now. Interested to hear others commentary and thoughts on it, if you were confronted by the same observation.

Is anyone else an avid follower of the developmental biology research being done by Michael Levin and his team out of Tufts University? It gave me some intense existential crisis type moments when I understood the implications. This was the first lecture I discovered by him:

Like 50 people told me to sort out getting a Lightning address on my profile last night, so I went down that rabbit hole. I think I got it working with npub.cash. Still feeling a bit lost, this is kind of like discovering the internet in the mid 90s for the first time again for me 😂

Been doing some reading... seems like Alby is one of the most well supported extensions for managing a wallet and a key together (and one of the few good looking ones I found for Firefox). Is this a correct assumption? The problem is that there's a waiting list of like 4300 people to sign up for an Alby account 😑

I'm using the Gossip client that was on the Nostr main website, still getting used to all of this and had a few questions: 1. It seems like posts can have some kind of "reward" thing? Looks like an emoji reaction. Can anyone explain to me how those work? 2. What format does my profile picture link need to be in? Can't seem to get that working. I uploaded it on nostr.build. 3. This is likely a stupid question, but is there any way, or going to be any way, that you can filter and view the messages flowing through a given relay? I guess I'm imagining a relay that was meant for a specific topic... really, that sounds a lot like a hash tag, now that I think about it. Anyway, yeah, is there a way to follow tags? 4. Any other random tips and tricks anyone is willing to offer?
