Indie Hackers sucks.
I wanted to use it to promote my site. And also for some feedback – that is always appreciated. That's what "older" people told me it's for. The orientation on the web is quite confusing. But after a few attempts I found the button.
The first small insert is OK. But after that you need to input a much bigger bunch of information – and that's where the pain starts. I tried to save it at least 5 times. Impossible. Every time I hit the Save button, the page reloaded without any data. And without any information about what I filled in wrong.
On the 6th try, after inputting the same info, miraculously everything was saved. I clicked here and there and tried to find my app. Impossible. In the profile? Nothing. In the products? Nothing. Luckily the browser has memory and it was there – indiehackerscom/product/myproduct. Finally I found it.
There is a button to create a post. After pressing it, I get the first and the last piece of info about why and what. Specifically: I need to comment on some other posts to have a history to create my own post. That makes sense. There will be activity on the site and I get to meet other apps for inspiration and support.
So I got into a post. Wrote an engaging comment, hit Send and... Nothing. My comment is still there. Every day I try to send it, but unsuccessfully.
I was heading to the terms, I was reading the FAQs. No explanation, no info – no rule. I have no idea what others did to be listed on IH. But this is definitely not a user-friendly attitude.
