With all of these ancestry/DNA testing companies out there, our (extended) family tree keeps revealing hidden branches that we didn’t know existed. Five years ago, my uncle discovered he had 30-year old twins. That new branch of the family tree has produced much fruit for both he and the twins. Today, my wife learned about a new branch on her side of the family. I hope it is as fruitful as our previous discovery. Anybody else had this experience?

This morning, I boarded a plane with Bitcoin at $84k. When we landed, it was at $92k. Pretty wild!

They say there are five stages of grief. I don’t know how many stages of Bitcoin there are, but I’m at the one where I like the dumps more than the pumps. Granted, this is my first cycle, but it just feels like every dump is the last opportunity to scoop up Bitcoin at that price.

I know very little about Ethereum. But reading a few posts about today’s hack has made it clear that I don’t want any part of those Eth bags. Their explanations about their value proposition and the ever changing path forward sounds a lot like my kids explanations when they are caught doing something they know they weren’t supposed to. “You see, what happened was…”. “Well, we had to because…”.

Am I the only person who has no idea which generational label they are supposed to belong to? I’ve never bothered to look it up because I don’t see how this knowledge would change my life in any way. Based on observations of social media discussion, I suspect I’m probably Gen X, Gen Z or Millennial.

I decided to buy some stock in HK Asia Holdings, a public company traded on the Hong Kong exchange. They recently added David Bailey to their Board and I’m betting they will be the MSTR or Metaplanet of their market. I may be right or terribly wrong, that’s not the purpose of this post. The process of purchasing this stock really made me appreciate the freedom, ease, and convenience of Bitcoin. It was shockingly difficult and inconvenient to convince some gate keeper (Fidelity) to allow me to deploy my own hard earned money towards an investment of my choosing. The time zone difference in Hong Kong, exchange closure on the weekend, and the US President’s Day holiday further delayed the purchase by 5 days. It sure made me appreciate the user experience on @River. Thank you @Alexander Leishman!
